Ooohh crazy! I always thought the new stomach would be just like a straight tube but you've got that little sticky outtie bit..

How cool I hope I get pics when I go in!

Two weeks from now I will officially be a couple iof hours post op - getting scary! Day three of Optifast now, feeling a bit hungry still but have had no headaches like last time (knock wood!). The food channel is a no go zone right now - it is torture!!

Can't wait for the day when I'm not hungry anymore!!!

Hi guy's - another day done on the pre-op diet. I don't know if it's wishful thinking but today seemed a little bit better today although work got super crazy and I didn't get to eat mid-afternoon which means I am starving now. I am in the process of cooking dinner and had a little pineapple while doing so.

A friend of mine (who was sleeved 12 months ago) advised me to have a little fresh pineapple to deal with the bad taste in my mouth and post surgery, suggested sucking on the pineapple (not eating it) - I have a white coating on my tongue (apparently from being in ketosis) that is causing the bad taste and the acid in the pineapple gets rid of it.

Anyone else heard of this? I really enjoyed the little bit of pineapple tonight but I kind of like sour things :)

Lila- glad things went better today, maybe when your busier it's easier?

The pineapple thing seems like a great idea! I'm a big fan of pineapple and am thinking maybe yesterday and today's binge eating is a sign of fruit withdrawal as strawberries and fruit salads have been awful at shops lately :( no matter how much I love them, there's only so many times a week you can eat apple after orange after apple... Lol

So envious of you sleevers, I keep thinking if I was already sleeved then my messups wouldnt be as huge, that is- I would eat less by proxy, lol

But then again what if I can't control my eating sometimes and I hurt the sleeve?! I think I'm glad I have to wait, it really gives me time to work thru this stuff...

Hope everyone else is doing well and looking forward to meet up Saturday :) hopefully I'll be back on track by then :) p.s. sooo frustrating since I've been fine for weeeeeeks, then wham! Oh well!

Peace

Wish I had known about that trick! Ketosis is awful!

I hear you :) The pineapple thing worked quite well actually. And I had spicy fajitia dinner tonight (steak strips, onion, capsicum and spices) in lettuce cups. It was really yum! Feeling a lot more positive tonight then I was last night LOL...

Hi Everyone. My sister and I are getting sleeved together next week. Nerves are starting to set in. Any advice for someone less than a week pre-op??

My advice is to relax Vonnie, I worried to the extent of not being able to sleep properly weeks before the procedure, I also said to my wife on the day of the operation while I was sitting there in my hospital gown "bugger this let's go home I will stick to a diet". It really was easy though & considering how awesome I feel & the overal results 3 months later I'd do it all again any day of the week!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
