I'm guessing it's from the weight loss, perhaps I'm sitting or walking differently now, but for the past 2 weeks or so my hips have been killing me. The only way to describe it is a dull ache (similar to how they feel during pregnancy when they're widening). It stinks because my job requires me to sit at a desk for 10 hours/day. I keep shimmying around, or standing up to stretch. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm guessing it's from my 40 lb weight loss, and maybe my body is still sitting and moving like my old 270 lb body, and my new one doesn't like it so much?

I sit all day, too, and I've noticed the same thing. Part of it might be weight redistribution, part of it might be just me sitting too much on my arse. Anyway, I'd go to a reputable chiropractor for some stretching exercises. My favorite is to sit on the floor cross-legged, and lean forward.

Bionic Broad, Thanks for pointing that out! I think a lot of us forget that stretching is as important as exercise for our new bodies. I've been doing some stretching, but I think I need to add more stretching to my routine.

Diochick, I haven't had a lot of hip pain, but you could very well be having pain because of weight redistribution. Maybe look up some chair exercises that you could do at your desk and do them for a few minutes of every hour? Because I had pre-op blood clots, I try not to sit still for more than an hour at a time. Even if I'm driving, I'll pull over and walk around my car once an hour, just to keep the blood flowing. Perhaps getting up and walking in place once an hour for a minute would help with the hip pain?

Good luck!! :)

I don't have much flesh on my arse, and it does get really uncomfortable sitting for over a short period of time. I like getting up and stretching, walking to the restroom at 30 minute intervals. Helps relieve the pressure on our bottoms and hips. The stretching is extremely important right now to help strengthen your core muscles.

Thanks everyone. I do stand up, stretch, walk to the bathroom and back etc throughout the shift, but as soon as I sit back down the pain is back. Sounds like it's pretty normal. I hope it gets better soon.

I had really bad back pain that it was even painful to stand, walk, sit, or even lay down so I took action and went to physical therapy and they told me since I lost A lot of weight what was working before was my fat and not the muscles so now that we are getting rid of the fat our muscle are lazy and don't want to do the work. Action I took I don't hold my stomach in any more rather I push them out I do thigh and butt exercises like the clams hope this helps you

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
