Freezing Isopure Plus Or Other Similar Products?

Recommended Posts

It was suggested to me by my nurse coordinator that I make some Protein frozen pops for immediately following surgery when I get home. I have seen that on some of the whey Proteins, it says it is not good to freeze it. Has anyone else made protein frozen pops for post-op nutrition? If so, what products did you use? I plan on using the bathroom size Dixie cups to make small frozen pops as that will be about the size they say I can eat for the first few days. Thank you in advance for any help on this.

I'm gonna try to make frozen pops with my Bariatric Advantage ProGo Protein Elixir, it's White Grape Flavor. I sure hope it tastes kinda like my good old Gatorade Fierce Grape!

Let us know what works for you! I willing to try anything that's tasty!!

I didn't try to freeze the Isopure 40gm clear protien (love the apple melon-think jolly green rancher) but I did try to make a shake with ice. Did not work at all as it became frothy and undrinkable. Great idea, but you might not want it. I did not do well with SF popsicles.

Oh - and I could not stand anything cold after surgery as it upset my tummy. Found with trial and error that room tempature drinks or slightly warm were best and I could get in more liquid. Highly recommend peppermint tea, luke warm or lipton chicken Soup (strained & slightly warm) Had to take a PPI since stomach acid was really high for first couple of months.

Oh yeah, I love love Peppermint Tea!

I drink it for all my aliments, like sore throat, stomach ache, Migraines. I sure hope it helps me out after my Sleeve.

So maybe frozen pops might not agree with me after WLS? Like you said it's trial and error!

Thanks for the tips!!

I made frozen pops with the Isopure clear flavors, it was the only way I could choke the stuff down. Thankfully, I was only on clears a week post-op.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
