I'm 7 months post-op and only 5 lbs from goal...and I literally feel like crap. I'm moody and depressed ALL the time and it's really starting to affect my marriage. I don't think my husband can stand me anymore. I knew losing weight wasn't going to make everything perfect but I feel like I went in the opposite direction all together! Yes I love my new body and I feel great physically, but emotionally I'm a wreck!! Anyone else?? I know exercise is good and I go to my gym as regularly as I can but this feeling is draining....Also, and I don't mean to get too 'tmi' here but I have absolutely no 'interest' if you know what I mean...I should love showing off the new 'me' to my husband...but I hardly want him to talk to me, let alone touch me...UGH, I need advice.

I would have your doctor run a complete blood panel to check your levels to make sure that you are not lacking or too low in any of the areas. It is possible that you might need a little assistance and want to talk to you doctor about how you are feeling and maybe even a therapist. Oh and there is nothing wrong with seeking help when you need. You might benefit from an small dose antidepressant and this might make a big change in the way you feel. This is just a thought as I have seen several posts on here about people feeling depressed after having WLS> I was taking a happy pill before surgery and continue to take it today.

Have u checked ur hormone levels lately??? Two years ago (b4 wls) I managed to loose 60 pounds and felt like s*&^! They checked my levels of everything and everything was fine until my obgyn checked my hormones and that's were the issue was. Try drinking green tea and lots of Vitamin C, that helped me a lot.

Bariatric surgery and marital problems often go hand in hand...that's part of the reason for the psych eval. We undergo a lot of change after surgery and not all of it is physical. I agree with others who have recommended that you need to rule out any physical problems first and - assuming there are no problems there and also assuming that you do want to save your marriage - you need to talk to a good marriage counselor. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback....I guess it's time to go see the doc. I've been avoiding it, just wanting to feel better on my own.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
