Surgery Date Moved

Recommended Posts

I went in today for my pre-op appointments. My surgery was scheduled for the 27th of this month, and they moved it to April 24th. Part of me is disappointed that it's not next week like I'd planned, but the other side of me is happy, because this makes it easier to get people that can help me post-op. Either way, I've got a new surgery date!

sorry for the frustrating delay

you are taking things very well, by seeing the good instead of the bad in this situation, now being able to give yourself more time for your pre-op. Way to go talk to you later

best wishes

kathy

Mine got pushed back and forth a couple of times as well. The day it actually happened turned out to be the perfect time for my surgery! Yours will be perfect as well! :)

Good luck and I'm sliding over on the loser's bench!! :)

Mine is scheduled for the 27th. I've had a few crap already?! moments, but I think I'd still be ticked off if they rescheduled. It's good that you're able to take it in stride and find the positive side of it, you know, since you don't have any choice and stuff. :)

Had you started any type of preop diet, that you will have to either maintain or restart? Picked up any Rxs ahead of time you need to make sure not to lose? If you had initiated anything with STD make sure you let them know of the changes.

^ just trying to brainstorm, just in case. :)

I was already well into my pre-op diet (and 12 lbs down!) and have been told to discontinue it until 2 weeks before the date.

However, I spoke too soon. My mother is the one that's coming to town to take care of me immediately post-op. Of course, it happened that she absolutely cannot take any days off the week of my surgery. So, looks like it may be moved again.

I almost wonder if these are signs that I shouldn't be having it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
