Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for April 11 with Dr. Garcia in TJ, Mexico. I'm ready but currently in a 'food funeral' phase. :(

I start the pre-op diet on March 29. I'm worried I won't be able to stick with it. I have cheated before on all my previous diet attempts. I hoping the fear of surgery complications will motivate me to remain deligent and focused. I have wanted this surgery for several years. It's surreal that in less than 20 day, it will be reality!

Ursiboo you will be fine, whe you see the new you that coming out, you will be stick with.

By the way "Food funeral is the right word to the feeling; in my case I am eating the food that I know latter i wont be able to enjoy, im scared too, because is for my hearth my BMI is no too high, but I had asthma and my father died:( :( for a heart att # 8 and pulmonal problems and my mother are over w plus had blood P  problems the same like my father too, so I am so scared that i will be at that point, the same like everybody here I cheat with diets, I was in WW program for 3 years and lost 30 pound, but I gained it again plus more, I take pills, Self Diet, Many year draging this thing with me. I want to be clear that low BMI and hight BMI the emotional thing is the same. right know my IBM is 33.1 at the beging I was a little concerned about the low it is for, but I read that a person in my condition con do it even with IBM of 30

I wish good luck for everybody here.

April 10! Excited. Nervous. Still wonder if I'll hide under the bed when they come to wheel me in.

Wonder if it won't work and I'll find a work around. Wonder if it will work too well and I'll look all deflated and have big, floppy skin that I have to carry around. I'm self pay - worry that there will be a complication and my cost will skyrocket. Wonder if my four kids will even notice I'm eating less than they are. Wonder what my husband will go through. Wonder if it's worth it. Fingers crossed!!!

@Thefenixrd .. Thank you for the words of comfort. You will have your surgery the day after me. So, I will probably see you in the hospital!! Dr. Garcia is doing my sleeve also. How cool. :D I pray the surgery will be a successful remedy for your health conditions. You made a good point about the battle with emotional eating. That's one of the reasons I have decided to seek counseling to help me cope with the upcoming changes.

April 12th in the house! I guess you could say I am Anxious more than anything. Never had any type of surgery, but I think of the greater outcome. I think doing my research and being on this forum have greatly prepared me mentally. Physically I will prepare for the worst and hope for the best... Not gonna spend hours worrying about that part. I'm just ready to get this party started and be the person on the outside that I am on the inside... I've been competitive my whole life, and I will tame the sleeve! Hahaha

April 23rd here!!! I'm feeling exactly like smh. I'm ashamed to say I've been eating any & everything my heart desires leading up to the dreaded 2wk pre op diet. I'm scared I won't be able to hold out for the whole 2 weeks. Scared that once it's done, it won't work for me. Asking myself if I'm just taking the easy way out and am being lazy by not doing it thru diet & exercise (even though I've tried that one a million times with no long lasting resuts) I'm all over the map. But I do know one thing, I'M DOING IT!!!! Scared or not, once it's done, it's done and there is no turning back so I will just have to get onboard & deal. LOL I'm pretty sure I'm ready though just having those last minute jitters. Honestly speaking though, I think I'm more afraid of the 2 week pre op diet than I am of the actual surgery. LOL

April 10th and I'm excited. I was set for surgery 2 years ago but had to try to keep weight off on my own one last time. Now I'm ready and a bit nervous.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
