Almost Passed Out ...........

Recommended Posts

So I stood up from laying on the couch about half an hour ago and I almost passed out. My legs almost gave out beneath me. I immediately thought of possible dehydration so i went and got a glass of Water. I am getting fluids in fine but have realized that yesterday I must have drank more tea than water. I really think that I made a grave mitsake. I will not be drinking any more tea today. I felt better once I drank some water. I better stick to the crystal lite and water more than the tea. That scared the crap out of me.

This is how I was for TWO MONTHS after my surgery. I had to hang on to something every single time I stood up. Everything would go black and I'd have to wait for it to pass. My blood pressure had dropped drastically after the surgery so I upped my salt intake which helped quite a bit. I also tried, like you, to drink more fluids which has never been my strong suit because I'm not thirsty so I have to be ever mindful. At the 10 week mark, this had all gone away because I was finally able to eat more than 200-300 calories (I was up to 600) and, combined with the added salt for my BP, and the fluids - no more black outs.

I had that happen A LOT during my losing stage... yep just up your water...have you tried MIO? I switched from K2O because it is way cheaper than crystal light and it has no calories no fat no sodium, no sugar.

This is called posturial hypotension. When you lay down and then sit up or are sitting and then stand up the blood is all going to your feet and that is why you get light headed. I would suggest that if you are lying down that you sit up and rest for a minute or 2 and start to move your feet around as this will get your blood pumping and back towards your head. If you ever get up and feel lightheaded please sit back down as you do not want to risk passing out and falling and causing harm to yourself. Drink your Water and crystal light and try to stay away from too much caffiene.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
