I haven't completely tried it, but I been walking distance alot more and been having pain on my ankle and hamstring. I know that has to do with all the extra weight but it's discouraging

Tempted to do this....I've run some 5Ks in the past, but only one of them post-sleeve. I hate running, but there's been a lot of talk about adding runs to our Crossfit workouts now that the weather is better, so I should probably start training a bit before I totally embarrass myself when the next workout starts with a 2-mile run. I think I'll start with week 4 today....

What you hate running that's so hard to believe with your body the way it is lol... What exercise do you recommend after surgery

Just did the week 4 run....Jesus. Has to stop and walk for 30 seconds during the last 5-min run, but otherwise lived to tell the story.

DNO1, I do Crossfit these days.

I did fairly well with week 4 day 1, but this morning I did day 2 and did awful. I don't know if it's because I'm not a morning person and don't usually work out in the AM or because I did it on an empty stomach or what. Oh well, at least I did something, I suppose!

Running in the morning is difficult for me. I know it has to do with my glycogen stores ... the amount of energy my body has quick access to for exercise. I run a lot and do races, too. On race day, I usually will wake up 2 hours before and start eating. The day before is ridiculous ... the amount of food I eat ... But, I need it if I am going to be able to exercise at any descent level. I have a blog where I post about my experiences with nutrition and exercise. There is a link in my signature below.

When I had access to a gym I did this for a few weeks (I had to redo the first weeks for a little while before I could move on) and I enjoyed it... but I'm nervous about moving it outdoors because of my shoes. I know I would need new sneakers and I honestly can't afford them (anyone know where to go for cheap but decent shoes??)... i'm pretty sure using my current pair would simply end in injury. Also, I've lost weight in my feet so they don't fit well on top of it!

BUT, those few weeks I did it I enjoyed it. I was doing it without the app and just timed it myself, which was really difficult because I had to pay so much attention. I think if I did pursue this again I would definitely buy the program or the app to make it easier.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
