Really Starting To Wonder If Am Meant To Be The Skinny Girl?

Recommended Posts

I have been post op for 3 months and everyone is saying they can see the weight loss in my face and in my belly. Im ok with that but i tell ya i have been fluctuating in between -37 -40 lbs for weeks. i have had slip ups but im a really active person. i find myself getting tired easy but at the same time i have more energy if that makes sense. im just frustrated and i know all the rules and i know i break some of them but man alive. i eat nxt to nothing. I have noticed this past week that i dont get that stuck feeling as soon as i swallow any more. so i eat to fast and have made myself sick 3 times. lol i know i know sloww down. take your time chew your food. i have had the worst head hunger you could imagine lately. so i guess back to basics Water water water and Protein. ugh! anyway thats my gripe for the evening. sometimes i think that they nvr took enough of my stomach. maybe im just obssessing. anyway night all and thanks for listening.

I have these days tooooooo. Today, kinda bored and guess what? I have a lot of head hunger. LOL I need to devise a plan to get rid of the head hunger.

Your body is probably shifting and changing in inches. If we think about it. We didn't gain the weight over night, so it will take time to loose it. But, we have time. You will lose the weight, be patience and give yourself a lot of credit. This is a hard journey on our bodies.

Have you measured yourself? If not, this is the perfect time to take measurements of your body. You can see the inches dissipating really quickly. Your body is working over time now, so sit back and enjoy the ride! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! ;)

I second Dorrie, particularly on breaking out the tape measure. Try hard to embrace this journey and however long it takes... It's on this path that you're going to find the real you. And, try to be the "healthy" girl rather than the "skinny" girl. I know this is mere semantics but I believe in framing and it is rather freeing to focus on healthy rather than skinny.

Best of luck!

Amanda

Oh hun, you are seeing results and maybe possibly sabatoging your weight loss? Are you tracking your food? It is a real possibility that you are not getting enough calories and this can cause a serious stall. Body then thinks you are starving and will hold all weight.

Reevaluate all of the possibilities. You can do this because you are strong. Hang in there, we are here to cheer you onto your goal weight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
