I Know I Have Read On Here Many Times... But I Need Assurance :'(

Recommended Posts

Third night in the hospital, and things are slowly getting better. I can finally hold down water! Yay! But is hurts like a m&*%$# f$!* ... pardon my french.

My surgeon has ordered some test to check for blockage, to be done in the morning... I guess I just need assurance that this DOES get better. I want to go home! I am thankful that they are being precautious... I just miss my kiddos, and my bed!

Thank you all for your help. I am not sure what I would do without this forum. xoxo.

Sorry you are still in the hospital, but it is good they are taking precautions and making sure you can get fluids in and stay hydrated. It does get better every single day. I am hoping you hear good news on going home soon sweetie, hang in there!! Sending you healing vibes!!

Sorry you are having such a hard time but best not to take any chances. At least there if anything goes wrong they should catch right away. Just try to take it one day at a time it will get better. I wish you all the best and hope you get to go home soon. I know how it is wanting to sleep in your on bed.

Oh, Sabrina! I'm so sorry you're having a rough time! Hopefully, the tests will all be good and you can go home today, but I'm also glad that your doc is being cautious and careful! I'll give you good news about the bed, though. I slept in mine the first night I was home from the hospital, or the second night after surgery. I also didn't take any pain meds after the first day in the hospital, but I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. Hopefully, once they rule out any problems, you'll be heading home and be able to relax and rest. Hospitals are no place to actually get any rest!

Oh no, I have been thinking about you all week!

I am glad to hear Dr Mueller is taking precautions with you! I finally finished my 6 month diet. Now I play the waiting game to get the referral and tests, hopefully I will get my surgery in April! I hope your feeling better soon, and get to go home!

I had my surgery Monday and I didn't get to go home until today (Thursday). Most of my surgeon's patients leave on Wednesdays (he always does the surgery on a Monday) but I couldn't keep anything down either. I stayed an extra day, got the hydration I needed, and came home today feeling a lot more confident that I could do this. Although, it's 7:30pm and I am ready to climb into bed; I sure hope I can sleep tonight!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
