Gurgles And Green Pee
Gurgles and green pee are normal. Lol! I am at 5 weeks and still have gurgles everytime I eat/drink. It is not so much in my chest as it is right below the middle of my boobies. That is where the new small tummy sits. The green pee is a result of the dye they put down your stomach during surgery to check for leaks. It will go away after you pee a few times Congrats on your new sleeve!

Eating Out... Restaurant... Fast Food.
Okay, I am the first to admit that eating out and making bad choices probably got me into this mess in the first place... but now 5 weeks out, I realize that eating out or on the run is a reality of my single mom life. I do find that most places have 'good' choices, that I never noticed before! Of course I cannot eat more than a couple bites, but as I am learning what I can tolerate, I always have left overs to share with the kiddos, or for lunch the next day... So, at the risk of being lectured, my question is: What are your 'go to' restaurant choices or fast food? This is what I have found works for me so far: Rubios, Grilled Salmon Fish Taco Sansai, chicken Kids meal (minus the rice, steamed dumplings) Subway, tuna salad Vons (yes, I run into the the grocery store deli), Chicken Salad

Question For Veterans :)
For those of you who are all healed, losing, but winning how much can you comfortably eat at a time? For a typical Breakfast, lunch and dinner? BS as I read through all of my nutritionists info, it was hard to comprehend when it stated "only one to three bites". LOL! I mean, yes, I understood, but I thought to myself "really? 3?". Now, a few weeks post-op I KNOW what TWO bites are!!!! Hahahaha! Wake up call! (For those who have not yet had surgery, "two bites, means 2 nibbles off of a baby sized spoon!" I know it gets easier and better in time, and I know our tummies are 3-5 ounces once healed and unswollen... but I am curious to know what the "Bariatric Regular" diet looks like in terms of volume? Thanks! sabrina

Protein/vitimins
Kim, I am having the same issues. Sleeved on 2/20... Protein and Vitamins are killing me! Bleh.... it is the texture of the chewables that makes me gag! So, today I found a gummy Vitamin that is actually kinda yummy As for protein, I have made it my mission to not eat anything that is not protein of some sort. I know its not enough right now, but until I find a flavorless one I can't do it right now...

I Added Negative Findings Of The Operation Because
I know that before I had surgery I researched alllll of the good and bad. In addition, my surgeon was sure to explain to me of all the things that could go wrong. Although 'elective', this is MAJOR surgery, and definitley life changing. I am sure most on here did the same as me. I have been reading your posts, and will take you for face value, and believe that you are just having a hard time with the after surgery life. We all are in one way or another. And I feel sorry for you. I am no professional, but I am a verrry positive person. I believe the energy I put out, is what comes back to me. I hope you understand that the participants of this forum are kind, and many ARE having a hard time, but keeping positive and keeping their eye on the goal of being healthy. It is simply mean to keep posting your negativity, without being constructive in some way... I am only 3 weeks out, but if you need a friend to talk to, a support person, or someone to simply vent to, please message me, I would love to listen to your concerns, rather then seeing the negativity on here and getting everyone riled up... Hugs, sabrina

Flame Free Friday Confessions!
- To Barf, Or Not To Barf?... That Is The Question.
Now I have a ton of noise (gurggling) coming from my stomach... normal? My 8 year oldd thinks its hilarious. I'm glad someone is enjoying this lol!- To Barf, Or Not To Barf?... That Is The Question.
After posting that I had the same thought as you... walked in to the bathroom and let it out. (Sorry again, tmi)... I must have chewed really good, because it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be... tummy is happy again. Wheeeew. SLOW DOWN SABRINA (<-- note to self! >_< )- To Barf, Or Not To Barf?... That Is The Question.
Sorry that this is gross... I just ate too fast, for the first time... about 3oz of cottage cheese and a little peice of turkey. I have the foaming, burping, pain! But I refuse to barf. I hate barfing. Am I doing damage by holding it down? I know if I step in the bathroom it will come up... To barf, or not to barf? that is the question.- Flame Free Friday Confessions!
I guess mine is not soooo bad, but I still feel sneaky. Lol! All my BS life (Before Surgery) my guilty pleasure was Slurpees from 7-11! Even when I was pregnant I always had a Slurpee in hand... Friday is Slurpee day for the kiddos, when I took them after school today I noticed Sugar Free Cherry Apple! I got myself the little kiddy sized one and could only take a few sips, but it was sooooooo yummy!- New Feb Sleevers Any Regrets? Best And Worst Thing So Far
I sneezed 4 times in a row today, and for the first time NO PAIN! Wooohoooo! I must agree with everyone regarding the emotional part of this 'journey'... remember that after a life of eating unlimited junk food, we just had our tummies chopped away. Perhaps the hardest decision and adventure we have ever taken on. There is no turning back now! We can do it!!!- New Feb Sleevers Any Regrets? Best And Worst Thing So Far
Thanks Spatters! I know I'm on the right track, I think my patience is just wearing thin There just seems to not be enough hours in the day to swallow all of the liquids and Protein, but FOR SURE each day is a little better! Thank God! I am using CalorieCounter/FatSecret.com's app for tracking my food. I love it! I tried an scrambled egg last night. It went down good, but about an hour later it wanted to come back up I will try again next week, because it tasted soooo darn good! Today, I went to lunch with my co-workers for the first time post-op. Friday has always been Sushi Day! I did good Had part of a checken skewer, and a couple of peices of sashimi (no rice... which is probably what I miss most!) It was not bad at all. And everything seems to have settled in my tummy ok. YAY!- New Feb Sleevers Any Regrets? Best And Worst Thing So Far
- Sleeved Yesterday And Sick :-(
Hi J! Congrats on your surgery... I know exactly how you feel. I was so sick from the anesthesia and narcotics after my surgery (02/20/12) that I could not hold down an ice chip. I threw up EVERY time I sipped water. I ended up staying in the hospital for 3 days until I could hold down water for a day. Went home on day 4... I remember sitting in the hospital bed thinking "WTF did I just do?"... and to top it off I had a terrible cough.... it does get better though! Try using a pillow to brace against your tummy when you need to vomit or cough, it helps tremendously! Little sips of water, walk walk walk... and it DOES sloooooowly get better- What Am I Throwing Up?
Oh my... I am sure you have called your doc by now... I hope all is well. Keep us posted.- 3Rd Day After Syrgery
Quinn! I could not keep ANYTHING down, not even 1oz of water for 3 days after surgery... just keep trying a little at a time. I am at 2 weeks and 3 days now and can tell you, it does get better... just a little slower for some of us - To Barf, Or Not To Barf?... That Is The Question.
