My Gastric Sleeve Story

Hello I am very new to this although I have been watching you tube videos and reading forums I just never responded or joined ... so now here I am! I had my surgery on Valentine's Day this past week and I am so happy. I feel great and even walked 8 miles yesterday. Now as for my numbers I started at their recorded weight which was 265 in Dec 2011 (but my highest was 295 in Dec 2010). I started walking everyday from Dec 20th and havent stopped since even joined a walking/ running group which helps to keep me motivated. My surgery weight was 237 and now as of today 5 days post op I am 227. The day of surgery was my worst day only due to nausea. I did have a hiatal hernia in which the Dr fixed during surgery. He does have me taking Prilosec in addition to my viatmins. I am trying very hard to get all my water in and have no problems with getting my protein shake in. I am thankful for this process and am looking forward to getting my life back by being healthy.

Congrats! You are doing an awesome job! Keep it up...... Rock that Sleeve! ;)

Absolutely! Eight miles in a day is great. I Don't think I have been able to do that yet.

Hellosleeve sister! Welcome to the forum it was a great day to be sleeved, wasn't it! Doing well here too. I feel fine, just have a very tight sleeve and it is very hard for me to get anything down. Two sips and it bubbles up in my throat. My intake is very low. Maybe some more swelling will subside in the next couple of days and it will be easier. Best wishes on your end and congrats

My sleeve was done by a kaiser Dr in Fresno, Ca. Dr Van Boghossian. He actually has a you tube video of a gastric sleeve being done.
