  1. I had vsg 2-14-12 and did my first half marathon 5 weeks post op then ended up with a total of 11 completed thru dec 2012. I have 10 half marathons and 2 full already set for this year I'm addicted to running now but by no means a fast runner

  3. I'm in Modesto and I had my vsg Feb 14th
  4. I was a 36 BMI on the day of surgery and I feel I am doing well with my weight loss. Just remember its a tool to help you so don't abuse it and with a lifestyle change you should do very well :-)
  5. I have been very blessed with no problems and I'm happy with my weight loss I am down 117 from my heaviest and 85 from jan 3rd when I made the choice and 57 since surgery. I have ran 3 half marathons since surgery and loving life!!
  6. I live in Modesto and had to use the Fresno Kaiser. I guess I got lucky because I had only a 6 week exactly time frame from when I said yes to surgery until the day I had surgery. I'm sorry for those who are having the trouble getting approved.
  7. I'm doing my 2nd half this Sunday in San Francisco ... I'll be almost 12 weeks post op

  12. I did the half marathon and yet I walked most of it I am very proud to have done it at almost 5weeks post op. I jogged a 1/4 mile every mile throughtout my 13.1 mile journey and completed it under 3hrs and 30 mins. I can't wait to do more :-)
  13. I am 4 weeks post op and will be doing a half marathon this Sunday... I will be walking and jogging it but hey it's a start and I am excited to do more

  15. I was sleeved on Valentine's Day and I agree it is the best present ever!
  16. I'm 2 weeks post op today and I lost 20 lbs... Very happy
  17. I never heard a thing about the options class. I had to do a mental health evaluation ( 2 different appt. ) and meet with the nutrionist. After I completed that I got to schedule with the surgeon on which was when he was to tell me what weight I needed to lose but lucky for me when I met with him he said I was ready for surgery.

I have been walking everyday since surgery on Feb 14th I walk a min of 2 miles a day but generally 4 ( I have done 8 and will be doing 12 this Sat.) I have lost 15lbs from surgery date I try not to weigh everyday.

  21. So glad to have people on here to share the journey with. I'm down 12 lbs. yesterday at the one week post op. I feel great!
