  2. I had my surgery on Valentines Day and was the best gift ever!!!
  3. My kaiser experience was great I was referred by my Dr on 1-3-12 to the bariatrics program and met all requirements to be operated on 2-14-12. Only 6 weeks in which I also dropped 28 lbs during that time.
  4. I started my protein the day I left the hospital. I drink my 11 oz everyday and my water I'm close to getting in the 64 ooz everyday lol. I one week today!!!! I feel great. Good luck to you
  5. Stay positive :-) My one week post op is tomorrow and I'm doing great I'm getting in all my water and protein shake as well. I just got done walking 6miles today. Did you walk prior to your surgery? It helped me a great deal and I feel it is the reason I can keep it up now. Before my surgery I walked a min of 4 miles a day but on Saturdsys was always at least 8. I had surgery on the 14th aunt flo arrived on the 17th so as for stomach discomfort it is sometimes hard to tell what my discomforts are related too ... Lol but I still am very happy and upbeat.
  6. On the nausea part I had it right out of surgery and my nurses told me of a trick they said they used with cancer patients that have nausea ... They gave me alcohol wipes so anytime I would start to feel the nausea I put one at the end of my nose and breathed it making the nausea go away I was amazed on how it worked for me.
  7. My sleeve was done by a kaiser Dr in Fresno, Ca. Dr Van Boghossian. He actually has a you tube video of a gastric sleeve being done.
  8. Hello I am very new to this although I have been watching you tube videos and reading forums I just never responded or joined ... so now here I am! I had my surgery on Valentine's Day this past week and I am so happy. I feel great and even walked 8 miles yesterday. Now as for my numbers I started at their recorded weight which was 265 in Dec 2011 (but my highest was 295 in Dec 2010). I started walking everyday from Dec 20th and havent stopped since even joined a walking/ running group which helps to keep me motivated. My surgery weight was 237 and now as of today 5 days post op I am 227. The day of surgery was my worst day only due to nausea. I did have a hiatal hernia in which the Dr fixed during surgery. He does have me taking Prilosec in addition to my viatmins. I am trying very hard to get all my water in and have no problems with getting my protein shake in. I am thankful for this process and am looking forward to getting my life back by being healthy.
