Recommended Posts

i am so frustrated. I was loosing really good, I lost 9 lbs on pre op diet, then 18 lbs one week into the surgery. I haven't lost a single pound after that. I started eating enough Protein n drink enough Water but I'm not loosing. I'm on the puree phase right now. For Breakfast I will have 2 egg whites, lunch I will have tuna n dinner I will have some type of soup( blenderized). Can someone please help me?

I lost 7 on the pre op diet and lost alot the first 2 weeks and then hit a stall right before the third week started. I was irritated greatly by this and thought that I wouldn't lose any more weight. I was in a stall for a week and a half. I started losing again after that. You will hit stalls and then start losing again. THere is no need to fret, just get Protein in and drink your fluids. I am nine weeks out and have lost 35 pounds. Don't worry and everything will be fine.

Please. remember your body is going through changes. You will NOT lose a certain number of pounds every day. You just won't. Your body is adjusting. You're 2 weeks out from surgery. There's nothing wrong, you're just hitting a point where your body needs to adjust. THROW OUT YOUR scale. A watched pot never boils.

I am three weeks out. Just started mushy foods. I had lost 26 total at two weeks out. Then I hit a stall for a week. Today I weighed and i'm down three more pounds. I had talked to the doctor and they said your body is just adjusting to everything and this will happen. I am sure you are losing inches still. So don't worry, you'll be fine!!

Please stop weighing yourself every day. It will drive you crazy. I am a victim of the scale. In the beginning, I didn't bother weighing myself and was very happy :). Then I decided I wanted to see how many pounds I would loose over night. That's when I noticed that I was in a stall. I have a hard time staying away from the scale now. I am trying to not weigh myself until Valentine's day which is next week.

Eat alot of Protein, drink alot of Water, and just focus on enjoying today. You will do fine with your weight loss! Trust me. You will lose it. ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
