Hi March Peeps! Happy six month surgiversary! I can't believe that it has been six months already. I'm doing great although I have been getting my hunger back. It feels like I'm starving at times. I am a "runner" <--- that cracks me up. Anyhow, I don't know how much of the appetite has to do with running. I've never needed an acid reducer, but I think I might talk to the doc at my six month follow up. I'm starting to get a freaked out by the amount of food that I have been eating.

I now wear a comfortable size 8. I'm not quite a six. I did wear a size 20 in December of last year. I wear a medium top. I used to be a 2X. I'm so thrilled with being able to dress cute for work. Yay cute dresses and skirts! I'm LOVING Victoria Secrets and the ability to fit into youth exercise apparel! Lol!

I love that I can do anything I want to in regards to physical activities. Kayaked and hiked to the top of Yosemite Falls! I'm running like crazy and I can run 9+ miles without having to stop to walk. That is INSANE! I can't believe how far I've come in such a short time.

I'm 5'3 and my goal was 135. I'm 12 pounds from goal. Yay 147! I started at 235 and I was 212 on the day of my surgery.

I am struggling a little but with body image issues. I still feel obese and I know that I'm not, however I'm a bit concerned about how preoccupied I am about the way my tatas, tush, and tummy look. Oh, how the triple T's taunt me?!

Other than that- life is pretty darn good.

I'm so happy to see everyone is doing great and having success as well. Let's get to goal!

-Danyelle

I think this normal because I have days that I feel hungry but can't eat but an ounce or two ( I had my sleeve march 26th ) but I can eat more watermelon that goes down very well. Some foods doesn't feel so good going down so I leave those foods alone lol. What you probably shokf do it keep moving and that will keep your mind off of foods. This work to well for me because I'll forget to eat that's not good

Hi Gi510,

Well, our stats are almost the same.At least you are losing. So keep plodding away,is all thats needed to get to goal.

My weight loss came to a screeching halt about a month ago and I just couldnt figure out why.But I decided to stop smoking while in a stall (why not,not losing weight anyway) and gained 3 pounds...and now I am feeling kind of relieved..I know why I gained and knowing is better than just not understanding.Bad place to be actually as I feel kind of defiant and rebellious, like I deserve to lose weight for doing the right stuff. This is hard.

Anyhoo, will go on liquids for a few days if I have to.I have warned this fat behind of mine today,if I dont lose 2 pounds by Friday it is liquids for a week!

Good luck and keep posting as you'all lose.It helps keep the perspective when I see we are all more or less losing at the same rate!

Hi everyone, I haven't been posting alot but thought that I would give an update so far. I have gone from a pants size 22 to 14(and these are getting very loose), a 2x top to Large. I am losing slower than I expected but I have had alot going on and haven't been exercising regularly but that is changing so I hope to be at goal of 160lbs before Jan 1 2013. I have decided that once I get there I may re-evaluate my goal and shoot for an additional 20lbs before my 1 yr post op visit. I still can't see much of a difference but I can tell in my clothes so I can't complain and I know that although the scale isn't moving the inches are coming off and that with my strength training that muscle weighs more than fat(YAY). So here are my stats so far:

Pre-Op weight:248.8

Surgery Date:03/13/12

Surgery Weight:239.8

Today's Weight:194.4

Total Loss:54.4

But if I don't have any weight loss next week I am gonna be like desertmom, and it will be liquids for the week;)

Can't believe it's been 6 months! My 6 months will be on the 28th. I'm down 55 lbs. (233 from 288). I want to be down 60 lbs. by the 28th but my body is being very stubborn. Last month I lost 3 lbs and so far this month 0 lbs. But I've come a long way baby :) As far as sizes, I was a tight 20W and can now fit into regular 18 pants, and I fit a size 14 dress. Woo hoo! Size L tops. My personal goal is 190 lbs and size 14 in pants. I don't remember ever being under 200 lbs or smaller than a 16, so I'm looking forward to this! And I'm 5'11" so that's why my goal weight/size is higher than the norm. So glad I got sleeved. This is the best 5 grand I've ever spent!

Hi all, any March sleevers having a stall? I've been stalled for a full 2 months with slight weight gain. I eat everything I'm supposed to and exercise regularly. I picked up jogging and can now run a complete mile (huge milestone). I was wondering if any of you have reached a long stall and what you did to overcome it. I am putting myself back in liquids tomorrow but I dont know if it is going to help. Just looking for a few success stories to get myself believing that this is not a permanent stall!

Hi

Me,the person that always thought long stalls must be caused by cheating, have been basically stalled for almost 6 weeks (maybe 2 pounds in 6 weeks).

I have been on liquids for 2 days now (torture!) and my weight is still the same!

So now I have figured.I can stall while enjoying my food or while starving, what do I choose? No brainer, tomorrow I am eating!

Good luck!

Yep major stall here too. I lost 3 lbs last month and have been bouncing the same pound all this month. I know I am shrinking but I wanna see those numbers move dammit! I have been working out sill and haven't really changed my diet. Hoping for better numbers next month.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
