Hi and welcome to LBT. You are going to love it here. You've done wonderfully since being banded. I was just banded on July 18, and don't have my first fill scheduled till Aug 30. I lost 10 lbs. on my pre-op diet and 6 lbs. since. I'm very happy so far with the results.

I have a dog also.

I am in Tennessee with family and had my surgery in Nashville. I kind of live in two different places, one out west and one in the south. I am retired and my kids are in Knoxville so I get to visit here a lot and couldn't resist coming here for my surgery.

I am a retired Trauma Nurse of 38 years.

I have 8 grandchildren.

Again welcome to the forum.

Hi Doty,

Thanks for responding. I have been a nurse since 1978. I have done several types of nursing but now I dont do direct patient care. It is s wonderful profession, however, I wish I could retire too. I have a few more years to go.

How did you get the pretty signature and weight loss strip that you have for your signature??? I would love to pick out something for me.

I use to go to Decatur, Al a lot. that is close to Huntsville and about 129 miles from Nashville. That is a nice area.

Have you had any issues since banding? are you eating regular food? What are you doing for exercise? I am walking right now, however, I will be starting at the college gym when the new semester starts. My husband will go with me.

I bet you have a lot of interesting stories to tell since you spent so much time as a trauma nurse. I would love to hear some of them.

take care and thanks for the welcome!!! talk to you soon! ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
