How Much Did You Lose In Month 1

I am reading along and noticing the VAST differences in everyone's loss. I had my sleeve done on 12/26/11...and have lost 36 pounds now.

I have to honestly say that it seems like so little when there is so much that I need to lose.

My clothes are all too big and that's kinda fun. Plus I can touch my toes and I can run (not simultaneously).

My surgeon said that I should expect to lose about 20-30 monthly. I sure hope that is not lofty because I still have such a long way to go.

Where were you at this time? When did you start REALLY seeing a difference? When will my chins consolidate :) ?

My surgeon said that they expect between 15 and 30 pounds of weight loss in the first month. I think I lost 29 pounds my first month, so 36 pounds is awesome! Try not to compare yourself to others because everyone loses at different rates.

You guys are all awesome. Thank you for the encouragement. I know that I want to get rid of a whole bunch more weight and its so cool to know that this kind of support is available. My family and friends are great and all but they just don't "get it". I can touch my toes again, you know? Its laughable to so many people and such a topic of gossip at work. But I don't care because I know that I am not going thru this alone. I'm proud of you guys and to anyone trying to make the decision to get sleeved just remember that even when it gets hard SOMEONE is out here who understands.

The first 2 weeks I lost 22 lbs. Then at my 6 week visit I had lost 53lbs. Then all i remember is my 1 year visit with a total of 150lbs. I'm now entering my 3rd year and still have tons of restriction with my sleeve. Only thing is that my body has settled in very comfortably at getting about 850 - 1000 calories a day. So my weight is maintaining at 200 - 205 lbs, which is fine with me!

391lbs when i looked into surgery...... 341lbs on the day of surgery.......one month was on the 19th....i weighed in on the 18th at 325lbs...... so 16, maybe 17 lbs in the first month......... it feels a little slow with what i lost pre surgery.. but i cant complain about losing 16lbs in one month

i only plan on checking once a month..... i hope next month its another 16lbs...... or more ;)

I was sleeved on 12/21 and when I went for my post op appt on 1/19, I was down 26lbs.

I only lost about 12 pounds the first month. I am now 4.5 months post surgery and I have lost 41. Truth be told, I'd rather it be slower. I am not having any loose skin issues as of yet, so I don't mind it being slow and steady. I have been stalling for three weeks at a time, currently on one now and stuck at 175. My doctor says he wants between 10 and 15 pounds per month.

its been 1.5 months for me and i am down 42 pounds. I have been in a 2-3 week stall though and ill lose 1-2 pounds then right back in it for awhile.. im ready to start losing again though
