    Snack Ideas

I just chew really well and sip and I do mean SIP plain water to help it down. I haven't had any problems as long as its very small sips just to aid in the digestion.
  2. I know people say this and I didn't believe it, but take your measurements regularly! I found when I was stalling was when I was actually getting smaller and when I was losing my size wasn't changing, I have been on a stall since December, with only ONE pound lost, but I have gone from a size 12 to a size 8, so I know I'm still shrinking even though I'm stuck at 168. I was 216 on my surgery date in September and have been 168 since december. We REALLY need to focus on size instead of scale numbers.

    Snack Ideas

If I'm craving a snack late at night I just grab two pieces of lunch meat. It satisfies the craving without too much of anything numbers wise. I think it takes like six slices for 8grams? So it might at one gram to your count

    Stall Information!

I've been stalled since December and was only sleeved in September. I stopped obsessing about it and realize that I can't force my body to do what it doesn't want to do, all i can do is follow the rules

    How Do You Priorities?

I am seven months post op and couldnt fit in exercise until month five. It took time for me to adjust to everything physically, emotionally, nutritionally, etc. Give yourself time, you have the rest of your life!
  6. Along with buying new clothes and shoes, I "suffered" through another intolerable NSV yesterday. I took my wedding rings in to be resized since they were almost falling off daily. Resizing from a 7.5 to a 5.5 is gonna cost me $100.00. Waaaaah! This losing weight thing sure sucks! Lol!
  7. Sunday was my five month surgiversary. I have not lost any weight since before Christmas. Luckily I haven't gained any either. I have lost 45 pounds since my surgery and I think I'm done losing weight. I'm okay with being a size ten, but the only thing is, I think I will be classified as a surgery failure, which kind of sucks. I had hoped to get to 150, but after two months of no weight loss, I think that's it for me. When did the long-timers out there finally plateau?
  8. I actually use mine on the stove top. I put it on top of a cast iron griddle and keep the heat on medium low. Then I have been cooking the meat for one hour after browning. Everything has been just fine.
  9. This sounds like a strange concoction, and I admit I was just throwing anything in that I could find in the moment, but it was soooooooooooooo divine! Beef Stew meat Green bell pepper Red bell pepper several cloves of fresh garlic Half a can of green pitted olives Mushrooms Shallots 3/4 cup of chicken broth couple of dashes of lemon juice couple of dashes of teriyaki sauce Montreal steak seasoning Couple of shakes of parsley Weird mixture I know.... we were low on groceries and I was just kinda using what I could find. It was BY FAR the best meal I have made in the tagine to date.

    Devastated!

How far out from surgery are you?
  11. My weight loss has been VERY slow and in a pattern. I lose for about a week and then I stall for three. This has been ongoing since surgery. I have "only" lost 44 pounds since surgery day on September 12th and I have only lost two pounds since Christmas, which was five weeks ago. Be patient, it will happen and your body is just freaking out right now.
  12. Interesting? Hmmmm..... I hope it doesn't blow up or something? All of the web videos I watched were all stove top, and one said as long as you use a heat diffuser it is fine.
  13. Neil: Have you tried it stove top? I put mine on top of a cast iron skillet and keep the heat on medium and meals are taking about one hour that way.
  14. Yes Susan, Walgreens carries it. I just wanted you to see the picture of the "right" one because the others don't work as well for me. I have also found it occasionally at Target
  15. i have shaved every day since I was 17, so exactly 20 years. I use a mens razor and I use a separate one for my legs, underarms, etc. The face one is only for my face. The best product I have found is the bikini zone cream, NOT the gel. The cream is supposed to be use after shaving to get rid of the skin irritation/bumps, but I find it works better if you use it as your shaving cream. It contains lidocaine, so it's actually medicated which helps with the irritation with shaving. It's expensive for a small amount but a tiny dot goes a long way. This is the one you want. http://www.riteaidonlinestore.com/Bikini-Zone-Medicated-Creme-oz/dp/B0009R14YK?traffic_src=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=froogle
  16. @Grannyk Did you add water to yours, or did you use the mushroom soup as your moisture? I'm going to try yours tonight.
  17. Ok I bit the tagine bug.... Tonight... Beef stew meat, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, fresh ginger, onions, with a little paprika and montreal steak seasoning. The meat was sooooooooooooooooo tender! I'm in love!
  18. I can say, as silly as it sounds, that attention from males is really bugging me at this point. I'm irritated with the sudden over-helpfulness of male sales associates, the sudden messages from strangers on facebook, etc. I was always the girl with the "pretty face" AKA FAT ASS BODY, so nowwwwwwwwwwww you want to be nice and attentive? I know i'll get past this stage, but right now, I know exactly what you are referencing.

    Any Low Bmi Folks Here?

I am 5'3 and was 216 my day of surgery. I have been a relatively slow loser and 4.5 months post surgery I have "only" lost 41 pounds and am currently on a three week stall at 175. I don't mind losing slow, but do fear that I won't lose any more.
  20. I only lost about 12 pounds the first month. I am now 4.5 months post surgery and I have lost 41. Truth be told, I'd rather it be slower. I am not having any loose skin issues as of yet, so I don't mind it being slow and steady. I have been stalling for three weeks at a time, currently on one now and stuck at 175. My doctor says he wants between 10 and 15 pounds per month.
  21. I don't do spicy, but I have had chicken wings. I generally eat them with a little BBQ sauce or teriyaki sauce because if they are "wet" they seem to go down better. I can only eat a couple at a time though.

    Sushi Recommendations?

I have heard of people ordering it without rice. I just prefer to order it as is and eat a smaller amount. I get a shrimp roll with no cucumber since it is raw. So, it is shrimp and avocado only. I can generally eat two pieces at a time. Good luck!

    Official: FitBit Thread

I actually tweeted them with my issues and they sent me a new one. So far so good and completely accurate. It really does motivate you because I have been taking the stairs at work to get "credit" for them instead of the elevator. Mission accomplished.
  24. Giving up soda was the best thing I ever did. I don't miss it at all. It's amazing how my migraines suddenly stopped too.

    Official: FitBit Thread

I just got the fitbit last week and I am not sure I am very impressed, so I decided to look for a thread on this site. This morning I got up and walked down the hallway and it was 16 steps, yet the fitbit also registered 47. It also says I have burned over 350 calories today, when all I did was walk down the hallway and sit on the couch. I am considering sending it back. I don't think it's all that accurate.
