Need Volunteers To Give Their Opinion

Recommended Posts

Hello-

I am writing a research paper for my Social Psychology class. I am toying with the notion of writing about how society reacts to obese and non-obese people.

I had my VSG surgery on August 1st of this year. While I am technically still obese- I have lost nearly 70 pounds since the start of the year. I am now an average weight for my local area. I have noticed a drastic difference in the way people in general treat me.

I am looking for volunteers that would be willing to complete a brief questionnaire about your experiences after VSG surgery. No names will be used only facts gathered from the questionnaire.

If you are interested in participating please let me know.

Thank you

I would be happy to participate. Send me a personal email with the questionairre and where you would like me to email the results to. I am OK with sharing demographic info also. I would like a copy of your completed paper - I am intersted in seeing your results and conclusions.

Wonderful. Thank you for your willingness to participate. I would be happy to send the final paper out to anyone that is interested in reading the end result. At the moment I am collecting names of those that are willing to participate. If the subject generates enough interest, I will follow up with the questionnaire. If it does not generate enough interest- I will let you know as well.

Thank you again for your willingness to share your experience.

I will be happy to participate. I am very early out though (6 weeks), so I will let you decide. Perhaps it will take you some time to send out the questionnaires and I will be ready.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
