I drink sparkling Water and a diet coke everyday BUT you need to wait until you are at least 6 weeks out because you are such high risk for a leak until you are 100% healed. Please wait! Your new tummy is healing!!!

I was told we can never have carbonated anything ever again ...It will expand your sleeve/stomach and I have read posts of women that have drank soda and 1 year out thats exactly what happen and they are now gaining weight and can eat like they did post surgery........dont take the chance ......good luck to you.

I would not try it that early out. I started drinking diet soda at about 11 months out and I'm fine. I would wait if I were you, your still healing.

I was told both with this and lapband- NO soda- carbonation is a) a false sense of fullness- it has too much sugar and it just isnt healthy for you...

I'm 8 months out and I can't tolerate soda. I get super burpy and uncomfortable. I've totally cut bubbles out of my diet - soda, champagne, fizz, alka-seltzer, etc. I don't like soda much anyway, so it wasn't a big sacrifice to me. I did love sparkling waters and champagne, so I miss those a great deal, but I'll take my size 10 jeans over a glass of carbonation any day!!!

I was told that I could not drink soda gain unless it sat long enough for it to go flat. I think it has something to do with the gas and bubbles in the soda so when you drink the soda it does not bode well for your stomach. I have not come close to a soda and I am close to 6 weeks post op. And I can honestly say that I do not miss the soda at all. I have found a new friend and it is called "Diet Cranberry Juice" It has 5 calories in a serving and with lots of ice it is wonderful. Of course I still enjoy my crystal light but cranberry is my fav. I would check with hour surgeon about the soda just to make sure.

I took 2 small sips of diet Pepsi last night and it was uncomfortable. Amazing such a small amount could cause me to notice, so I think better for me to stay away.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
