I’m on day 6 postop .I’m starting to get really really hungry I was told seven days the first week you’re nothing but clear liquids the second week you can have anything that slides off your plate like an egg or something like that anything that flies off a plate the third week is when you start introducing food different types of beans and things like that although I can’t have in the second week I can’t have cottage cheese so I’m kind of sticking with that it is getting a little tough I’m really really hungry I don’t know it’s probably psychological but I am hungry and I’m just keep on doing the broth and it seems to help

I’m 6 days out and starving. Like hunger pangs wake me up at night hungry. I can hear my stomach growl over the TV hungry. Protein does nothing to keep me full and I’m so tired of sweet and cold liquid. Broth makes me sick. This really wasn’t what I expected at all.

You are not alone. I am also 6 days out and starving. Especially at night. Broth makes me ill and I’ve tried every type and flavor of protein shake, and I hate them all. I don’t have any advice, but I am right there with you.

I know the feeling. I've seen that scramble eggs help me and canned chicken, like for chicken salad. I've tried the pureed foods and the texture doesn't work for me. Idk, if they are allowing that for you. After surgery, i started at stage II which was soft, mushy food or puree.

I was allowed to drink 50/50 water with crystal light before and after. I bought a bunch of Crystal Light from Amazon. One day while trying to drink my chalky awful tasting protein shake I decided to dump 1/2 a Crystal Light strawberry packet in the protein drink. Much better!!! I’ve also used the cherry/pomegranate flavor in my vanilla protein drinks.

I am 7 days post surgery. I have been hungry for days. I actually tried some unsweetened applesauce last night and it was still sooo sweet tasting to me. But it went down smoothly and filled me up for a bit. Today I get to try pureed but I plan to keep it light until I see my Doctor on Friday. So I am preparing some Cream of Wheat for breakfast.
