Hello all,

My name is Mook and I reside in Philly. I had lapband surgery 2/22/10 and I was down 55lbs but I seem to be gaining most of it back. I have done some research online about revisions and I am thinking of having the sleeve or sleeve plication done. Any helpful tips, ideas or suggestions would be helpful. I plan on looking at as much information on this site as I can. I also have been looking at a lot of people on youtube and their journeys, very helpful. Hope to speak with you all soon.

Mook

Welcome. Have you been tracking what you are eating, either lapband or sleeve you still have to be careful of what you eat, neither procedure is "solution" it is just a part of the "solution"

The doctors at my Kaiser really got us to avoid lapband because of potential problems. Nothing like seeing a picture of a band digging its way into the tissue to get you to decide on the sleeve. I am eight weeks out and happy with my decision.

Yes, my doctor really wanted me to go for gastric bypass but it was something in me that I just could not do that. I have tracked most of what I eat but for some reason I'm at a standstill now but haven't lost any weight in some time.

The body adjusts to caloric intake causing stalls. To shake thongs up modify workout. If using a treadmill run for two minutes at 2npg the 2 at 4mpg the 3 at 5 mpg. This alternating up and down causes the body to change metabolism. Same with work out one day legs the aerobic maybe third time arms and back don't keep doing same exercises as muscle has memory and will adapt. As to food change up one I'm awile splurge make body get out of starvation mode then go back to fat free milk/yogurt and other low fat foods. My trainer helped me alot. You will hit levels that is normal get out of routine to shake system. Your brain is designed to protect itself and will offset what you do on a regular basis. To keep metabolism going take jump rope to work during breaks jump rope for two minutes shouldn't work up sweat but body will start to burn calories. Key is to keep metabolism furnace burning calories.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
