I am craving salt. I know my body must need a little. I grabbed a few potato chips (I know, bad choice! But I was desperate!), but am looking for a healthier option. Seems like my diet is filled with sweet stuff these days. Protein Shakes, yogurt, pudding....How can I get a little salt in?

I eat pumpkin seeds. Love the ones I found in the veggie area at Wal-mart, they are already out of the shells, not too much salty and high in Protein.< /p>

Hummus is a nice salty dip; and pnut butter too. Later on nuts are a good option.

These are my go-to salty snack, in one convenient little package!

Planters - Dry Roasted Peanuts, 1 oz (28g) / about 39 pieces cals 160 Protein 7 carbs 5 sugar 2 fat 14

I actually bought Protein potato chips from My bariatric pantry. They taste a lot like regular potato chips, but you get your Protein in at the same time. Not the sort of thing I would recommend all the time, but when I'm craving something salty, they do the trick.

PORK RINDS!!!! I was so happy when I realized Pork rinds were all Protein and no carbs. I had avoided them all my life and now I can have them!!!! Of course, that is kind of specific taste element...you either love 'em or hate 'em. Kathe

I recently discovered Just the cheese Crunchy Baked Cheese Snacks. Yummy, and satisfies that desire to crunch! I just ordered some of their popped cheese too - I miss popcorn sometimes and hope this might be a satisfying alternative for an occasional treat.

We were sleeved around the same time I think. Fat free refried Beans with cheese, low fat chili, or Soup with a little extra salt is good for my salt cravings. I know what you mean about only having sweet things. It definitely gets old. I already have halloween candy in my house and i'm not tempted at all.

What about almonds? They have a ton of flavored almonds by Blue Diamod. They are amazing! My favs: habenero BBQ (not as spicy as it sOunds), honey Dijon and chili lime. Amazing and good for us in moderation!

I was at Safeway last week and in the deli section they had "crackers" that were made entirely from cheese - four different flavors. They're nice and crunchy. Of course, I love anything made with cheese. But, no carbs, and several grams of Protein in them. You can make your own too, which I've done, but I have a hard time baking them for the right amount of time to get them crunchy. (There's a recipe on these forums for them).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
