Please HELP me!!!!

Recommended Posts

This is my last month of my supervised diet, with the dietitian and I will meet with my surgeon next month, could someone please help me out by giving me some question to ask him. Let me say this, the closer I get to this, it seem like I am going blank, it’s like I knew all the questions I were to ask three or four months ago and now that I am a month away I can’t remember nothing. Does that mean I am getting nerves? Because I thought I had it all together, LOL. I will appreciate any question you could think of, it just might jog my memory to help me remember mines.

Thank you, so much for your help in advance.

Gina

1. post op pain: what medications are given?

2. how long you will be in the hospital?

3. how many sleeve surgery has he/she done?

4. what are the possible complications? what are his complication rates?

5. how long will you have to be out of work?

good luck.. you are making a very good decision.. the nervousness is totally natural. I had my surgery in June and I have no regrets (I did have the WTF moment after the surgery, lol)

Funny, my name is Gina and I also finished my 6month SWLP too this monthsmile.gif I am waiting for insurance approval I am looking at being sleeved at the beginning of November if all is well.

Ones I didn't see listed that I think are super important are:

How does the Dr check for leaks post op?

What if anything do they do to prevent DVT's?

Good luck to you!!!

I was given a binder folder with all the information I could possible want when I visited my surgeon. Perhaps call your surgeons office and ask if they will supply you info. Good luck!

I am so excited for both of you! I think another good question is how long will you have to stay in the hospital? How long until you can lift X amount of lbs? And I second the specific diet plan. You need to know what your next steps are.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
