meopuse sex= UTI

Recommended Posts

Anyone know any homeopatic ways to ward off UTI. I've had to take an antibiotic before sex for years now and they aren't working anymore. Have had several recent UTIs followed by a yeast infection.

It was suggested on another board to use lube and that would cut down on UTI. I have been under the care of a urologist for years now but I still have problems.

I am going to try D Mannose Has anyone heard of it? I've heard of women having luck using that. It's very expensive though. It's supposed to make it so bacteria can't stick. Gawd I hope so .

I hope the the other board's suggestion of more lube helps. Maybe if it's slippery enough, bacteria can't stick l I am willing to try anything!

If it is a UTI (bladder/urinary tract infection) and NOT vaginal infection.....cranberry extract capsules help the pH in the urine become more acidic which helps inhibit the bacteria from spreading. You can buy them over the counter next to Vitamins.< /p>

I had the same problem. I wear a thing called a femring. It is an vaginal estrogen delivery system but the estrogen does not go systemic. You have to replace it every three months. I rarely get those nasty UTI' s now. Do a google search for it. It is a prescription. Having frequent UTI's after menopause in not rare. You may have to educate your doc about it. Having seen a variety of docs preparing for this surgery, many had not heard of it. It has been a life saver for me.

Make sure you pee right before and right after sex. I know it's not romantic but the hubby knows I am going to pee and wash up right afterwards.

Blueberry extract as well as the cranberry work well in preventing UTI's.

I wish you well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
