Tv? Adapters for Laptops?

Recommended Posts

Stupid question I know but what sort of tv shows do they have there in TJ? I have a DVR at home but I was wondering if I will be able to catch a few shows like "Covert Affair"s on Tuesdays? Do I need an adapter for my laptop at the hotel or hospital? Im staying at the "Lucerna" and going to the florence Health hospital. Anyone watch TV while there?

Not sure what kind of adapter you are referring to ... there are USB TV Tuners that you can plug into your laptop that can accept a COAX cable or over-the-air frequencies. With these, you can use your laptop as if it were a TV. Plugging it in to a COAX means that you will only get unencrypted Ddigital Cable (the kind you get at home if you were to plug the TV directly to the COAX coming out of the wall, bypassing the cable box).

Another option ... if the hospital/hotel have internet service, check out hulu.com or a similar service. Additionally, with shows like Covert Affairs, you can watch them directly from the Network's website (i.e. USA Network).

Hope this helps.

You are going to have a potential problem with streaming, because the licenses for streaming are different in Mexico. You'll need to get information from the network (email possibly?) or maybe you can find someone with personal experience.

Yes, bring DVDs books magazines etc and forget live TV, catch up when you get home. You'll only be there a few days anyways. The programs are of course in Spanish unless the place you are staying caters to English speaking patients. There are usually lot of people to talk to and other stuff so you won't get bored. And of course you will sleep a lot too.

As far as an adapter for the laptop, are you asking about POWER adapters by any chance? If so then NO you will not need any adapters, MX (Canada as well) like the USA is uses 110 volts rather than the more common 220 found in Europe.

The TV at florence Health Oasis of Hope with Dr. Kelly gets ABC CBS and NBC, along with other stations. Same at the hotel. I brought my laptop and used it alot to take up time. You do sleep alot the second day and then you leave the morning of the next. I was bored stiff the first day because I got there at 9am and my surgery wasnt until 3:30pm. I had my IV in starting at about 10am. No Water or ice chips all day. So I stayed on my laptop and chatted with my dad to pass the time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
