Where are you getting your sleeve done?

I am penciled in for the 27th. That is too much time for me to think! I keep thinking about all the what ifs.... It would be easier to get it done without time to think. Really I want it done yesterday...LOL :P

My surgery is scheduled for July 25th. I am so excited and can't wait to have my surgery. This has been such a long journey for me and it's hard to believe my date is only a few weeks away.

Hi July Sleevers!!! My sleeve is scheduled for July 20th. I love Jim's idea of having funerals for the foods and favorite eateries!! My husband and I are on vacation the week of the 4th. When we return, I start the pre-surgery diet....and a-wwwayyyy we go......

No food funerals for me :( I have been on the pre-op diet for a month now and have to stay below my goal weight or else my surgery gets postponed. And I don't want that one bit!! :) lol. Gotta keep on pluggin' along! We all have to keep each other updated. Looks like Kath-A-Leena is the first to go! :) lol. Good luck to everyone! I can't wait to hear how everyone's surgeries go!

Someone that has more time on their hands than I do  should put together a master list like the Jewels of June did. ;)

I was ALL ABOUT posting in June but I am currently so bummed about the way things have progressed I'm afraid to get my hopes up. I got officially approved last Thursday afternoon (I know it was afternoon because it was the 2nd of my daily calls to the insurance company - thank goodness they don't check THAT behavior for the Psych eval!) but the insurance girl at my surgeon's office (who also does the scheduling) is on vacation until next Tuesday. She had told me that I'd be able to have it in June and I scheduled vacations, a church trip, a concert... all kinds of things for July! Now I'm afraid to even guess when everything will happen! My authorization runs out August 19th so it has to be before that but I'm stressing like crazy about trying to schedule a trip before or after surgery with all of the pre and post op appointments, etc.

Ok, enough whining. Someone posted here about having their fridge stocked with all the Clear liquids possible. What types of things has everyone been buying? I am still trying all of the various Protein powders but I'm wondering what everyone else is planning to use in the beginning. I'll be fine once I get to the eggs, grilled chicken, string cheese phase but until then what does everyone else have planned besides cream of wheat, sugar free pudding and strained cream of chicken Soup?

I took a browse through the recipes section and there are a TON of recipes for all the stages. The consensus over there seems to be for the full liquids stage, people are taking Soups (even chunky soups) and tossing them in the blender with some extra liquid (Water or broth). Some people have even taken chili and done the same thing. anything you can get to liquid form. :)

My first week post-op is just clear liquids so I stocked up on broth, Crystal Light, Powerade Zero, and sugar free Popsicles. Most of the same stuff I've been surviving on for the past week as my pre-op diet. I also bought a variety of Isopures and New whey bullets for post-op Protein. I haven't tried them yet. A lot of people hate them but then a lot of people hate Protein shakes and I like pretty much all the ones I've tried. Just not that picky, I guess.

Good luck Kath - your surgery is tomorrow!

I haven't started stocking up yet - mainly because I'm currently in Michigan, then will be traveling back to Ohio, then MD for a family reunion then back to Ohio for my surgery. 2 weeks after my surgery, I will be moving from my friend's house to an apartment of my own.

I'm scheduled for July 18. Can't wait!! I'm getting it done in San Antonio but I live in Pittsburgh. So this will be a surga-cation. One of my girlfriends from high school will pick me up from the airport and hang out with me for the whole week. I'm super excited to have some girl time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
