I'm currently 5 months out and a little discouraged. My PCP halved my BP med at 3 1/2 months out and indicated I'd probably be off it in a short while. I work in my PCP's office so have the nurses check my BP every 2-3 weeks, but it's not dropping any more! It's not high by any means, but hasn't dropped below 120/80. I had so looked forward to leaving this med behind! What is your experience with getting off meds? Thanks!

I've lost about 120 pounds and I'm still on 2 bp medicines. I go to my PCP next week and hoping that he'll take me off of 1 or both of them. Hopefully your time to stop you BP medicine comes soon.

Congratulations on your weight loss this far!!!!!!!!!!1

I might have the devil to pay but I quit both of mine on my own last week. I was so tired some days I could barely walk so I bought a blood pressure monitor and it was 90/60. I was floored. At time it was like 140/96 3 month ago and that was one the meds! So I went down to the fire department and asked them if they could check my pressure for me. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a bad monitor. They were kind enough to do it for me and it was 94/68. So I checked on how to stop the meds and weened off them. I've been off them 6 days now and I am about 110/70.

I am not losing a lot of weight but this alone may be worth every bit of this process. I know it's frustrating to not be completely off the meds yet but it may still happen. 5 months isn't really that long and you have come such a long way you should be very proud.

My knees are for crap. I said to my primary that I didn't think they would ever get better, that too much damage had been done. He said he's got about 45 patients who have had WLS now and that they continue to have improved health year over year, especially as they become more physically fit. You really could be one of those folks. You're just still a baby in terms of this new life.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
