I Passed Out During My Fill

Recommended Posts

On another LB board, there are several people that abide by the three stick rule. They get three chances to find the port. If not, a different fill dr/nurse is requested. Nobody's is going to learn on me!

I think it has to do with the band being empty. I am by no means scared of needles whatsoever and was actually looking forward to my first fill. WHen I had the very first one done I broke out into a cold sweat and felt like I was going to get sick and the doc and nurse actually had to hold me up so I didn't fall. Never have had that experience before. About a year and a 1/2 ago I had to have my band unfilled and when I went back to have it re-filled the exact same thing happened. I just chalked it up to my body getting used to this band around my stomach seeing as nothing like that every happened before. Those are the only times it happened though. All the future fills were a piece of cake.

Oh Leva - no need to be scared. Everyone is different when it comes to these things. Some of us have problems with their first fill or first few fills and some just breeze by. No need to worry though. You've been through the worst part already - the surgery!!

Oh NO,

I go for my first fill tomorrow with Dr. Curry. I have all the faith in the world in him from just what he's helped us with here on the board, but I"M SCAREDDDDDDDD. I'm so scared of pbing I think I'll just drink the first couple of weeks. I have a real fear of hearing everyone pbing and I just don't want to do that. My fill is actually 6 days early of the 5 week post op but Dr. Sanchez said it would be fine. He said he'd rather i go a few days early than start gaining the 20 plus pounds I have lost so far.

Oh, I sure hope i don't pass out. Should I look or not? I'm not scared of needles and the whole time they were doing my iv's for surgeries I just talk right through them but I sure don't want to pass out. I'm having my dh takes lots of pictures too.

Sure hope I make it,

Wish me luck,

I had my first fill in June and it went great. Can't complain at all...laid on the table, doc had me lift my legs up a bit so the stomach muscles would harden and make it easy for him to find my port, he found it, poked once, pulled the Fluid out to see how much was in then pushed it back in with a little more. Easy Peasy! Weirdest feeling when the needle pops out but, it didn't hurt it's just weird. I go for my 2nd fill on the 16th...after my first experience I'm not worried :) Actually excited to get back on the losing part again.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
