Holy cow, I had surgery 3 weeks ago, too, and there's no way I'm eating grilled chicken or beef! Good for you--I'm jealous!

I have a hard time getting in my Protein, too. Like others on this forum, I try to eat my Protein food first (and frequently it's the only thing I can fit in!). Dairy Proteins have been good for me--Greek yogurt, regular yogurt, 1 tsp. fat-free cream cheese on some really thin-sliced deli meat and rolled up (I can eat 1 of these), low-fat milk, and the ever-present and getting-really-tired-of-them Protein shakes. Ooh, and blended Soups, which are yummy!

Now that I'm moving into "mushies," I've been trying eggs (sleevie doesn't like them, which is upsetting because they taste great!) and refried/smushed up Beans (yum), mashed potatoes with cottage cheese smushed in (again, I can eat maybe 2 TBS of this). I'm looking forward to getting a few more foods in.

I think you're way ahead in the protein game if you can tolerate grilled chicken and meat. Be sure you're eating it first, so that you fill up on protein, then veggies (soft-cooked or maybe blended), and then any "carbie" things, but you're still really early, so I'm not sure what your doc's diet plan says.

Best wishes!

Meg

Don't be too anxious to try a salad. For one thing you will be only able to eat a tiny bit, and when I tried it I didn't make it to the bathroom. It was awful. I won't try lettuce for a very long time again. My surgeons office sells a really good Protein powder that comes in a variety of flavors. I love mixing them with sugar free pudding powder, lactaid milk, and frozen fruit. They make terrific smoothies and I even get some of the whipped cream in a squirt can and put a little of that on top. They are so thick with that pudding powder in them. You can find it on the web by googling Syntrax nectar, there are several sites that sell it. You can get a variety pack of all the flavors in a single serving. I would recommend that. But my favorites are the Lemon tea, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. I use frozen strawberries and blueberries and different flavors of the pudding powder to make lots of different combinations. Vanilla/Strawberry, Lemon/Blueberry, Chocolate/Bananna, etc...

Other things I eat are Cottage cheese, the grilled chicken from KFC, lunchmeat with cream cheese and a little shredded cheddar wrapped around a pickle (Yum).

Even though I haven't had my surgery yet, Protein intake is a concern of mine because I have a soy allergy. I have tried putting vanilla Protein mix into greek yogurt with one equal, and some extract (whatever flavor I want). It works for the protein intake: 18gr for the greek yogurt and 20 for the Protein Powder. Doesn't get much better than that unless you are able to add fresh blueberries!!! Then you have ambrosia!!!! food of the gods :P

I added powdered milk to my milk. No soy and a good protein boost. More carbs though. I don't like the smell of soy in Protein drinks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
