It has been about what I thought, The facilities, are small bur clean and adequate. I have noticed that they will allow u to not take pain meds if u choose, My advice is to stay on top of the Meds. I ask for mine on schedule and have been ok. The day after surgery was hard but today I have been feeling great. Ready to head home tomorrow. All in all. I am very pleased about my decision. The care has been good, the staff helpful, the comradire among the other patients encouraging. If someone is expecting an American hostpital, and facilities, they will be disappointed maybe scared, lol but that is more because of cultural expectations that care or ability. Or even equipment. I gave not regretted tge surgery or my choice of location. But I have a very adventurous spirit, and a thunk outside the box approach.

Oh and my barium swallow was good no leaks!!! :)

I get my drain out in the morning and then head home. Woot!

Awesome! I'm so glad you're doing well and are almost ready to head home.

Agreed, it's easier to stay on top of the pain with pain meds on time rather than to wait until it starts hurting.

YAY! now you have to tell me if it was painful or totally icky to get that thing pulled out this morning. ugh, makes me gag thinking about feeling it come out. Not sure how I'll handle it, maybe I'll just pass the hell out and save myself the trauma of it all LOL

I'm so glad you're doing wonderfully well and are back!

Renee.

It was odd feeling it skake out of u It was particually painful, the very last part is a little bigger at noticeable. Not bad not pleaant just one more little thing that u have to do to move to the losers bench. U will be songladd to get it out u wont care. :). I really can't stress enough at this point how happy I am about my choice. I know there is a lot of recovery left. But so far it has been better than I hoped for.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
