Friends that Support and Love You

Recommended Posts

My Mom used to tell me if you can count on one hand how many TRUE friends you have in your life then you are a very lucky person. I feel so overwhelmingly lucky for the friends that I have in my life. They are truly my sisters from other misters LOL.

I can count 3 and I feel blessed for every one of them. Lynn Byard on the board is more like my 2nd mom but she is one of the 3. It's a wonderful feeling to know that no matter what you do, someone has your back and is always there with love and support.

It feels like a lifetime ago that I made this post. I truly cried this morning because today, I tried the vest on and it fit! I can't wait to show her! I feel amazing.

Let me start by saying that a friend of mine has this vest she wears that I LOVE! I keep telling her she needs to give it to me. Doesnt matter tht she is a size 6/8 an I am a size 18/20 on top, I still want it lol. Of course she always tells me no you cant have it!

Well today we had a shopping date, and it was the first time seeing her since my surgery on the 27th. She hands me a bag and tells me to look... inside is a brand new vest size 10. She said she knows that eventually I will fit into it but left the receipt and tags just in case I want to get a smaller size.

I love her! She was not a huge supporter of the surgery in the begining because she was afraid for me. Now, I don't think there is a bigger show of support that she could have shown me.

smile.gif Just thought I would share.

Wow congratulations!!!

Friends like that are fantastic.

I have been overwhelmed by the support by my family and friends. There was the initial trepidation about having any kind of surgery. But even they supported my choice. As I get healthier and healthier they continue to support me.

They make me feel comfortable all the time, they will always get share meals when we are out or do things that do not involve eatting, which is a change from before.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
