I'm on my 3rd week post op. I had to hid the scale because it was driving me crazy. I was weighing on a good day 208, then the next day 211 then 210. How could I possibly be gaining weight if I intake between 600-700 calories. I have a Protein Shake with 52 grams of Protein eat eggs for Breakfast as well as greek yougurt for lunch. Which allows me to get in all my protein. In addition, to 60 ounces of Water now sometimes I don't get the full amount of water in or protein I can admit to that. It's just hard while working drinking and eating are the last things on my mind as well as after work I coach I may drink water during that time if I remember to bring some. Point being I really want to get over this hump and hit onderland please advise me of what to do. Thanks in Advance.

It's Water weight, and you are at the inevitable 3 week stall. In the search box up top on the forum page type in STALL, and see how many other 1000s of posts state the same thing.

It is not fat, you aren't really gaining weight. It's just Water weight. Even at 22 months, after maintaining for a year guess what I BOUNCE on the scale up and down on any given a whole whopping 5lbs, do you really think it's possible for me to gain 5lbs of fat on 1500-1800 calories a day. It's not at all, nor is it physically possible.

Keep the scale hidden, increase your water intake, and let your body recover.

You and I are in the same boat! We were sleeved on the same day. I haven't broken 210 yet. My normal days are 212, 213. I have read everything I can on these stalls. I keep telling myself that this too will change, but it doesn't!!! When I first hit 210, I was SO EXCITED!! I was thinking I would be in Onderland by the next week! Then reality hit hard and I never got under 210! Some days I will even be 214. I don't see how it is possible since I haven't had more than a few bites of anything for weeks. Oh well, let me know when your stall breaks. Wishing you lots of luck! It is beyond frustrating. I knew about stalls, I just didn't think they would last this long! :(

I HIT 208.0 TODAY AFTER WEIGHING IN YESTERDAY AT 208.8 SO MAYBE DRINKING MORE Water AND Protein WORKED. BUT I WAS ALSO ON MY FEET FOR 4 HOURS YESTERDAY WORKING A TRACK MEET SO THAT COULD OF CONTRIBUTED TO THE WEIGHT LOSS. JUST HOPE IT STAYS OFF AND I CONTINUE TO LOSE.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
