It's been a while since I was here and I still haven't come up with a way to pay for my surgery. Has anyone come up with a way to get Medicare to pay?. I think that weight loss surgery should be accessible to everyone who needs it. The fact that I am medically excluded from being able to have the lap band and the gastric bypass shouldn't keep me from medical treatment that will vastly improve my health. It seems to me that the powers that be are playing God with our health. Those of us affected should unite but I don't where to start to motivate people to write legislator including the White House. I don't think one voice will do it, but that is my next step since Medicare flat turned me down ignoring all my concerns.

I thought Medicare pays for the lap band and the ruin y gastric bypass surgery, as well as the d switch . but they don’t yet pay for the sleeve.

If anyone has any updated information on when Medicare will cover the sleeve please share it.

I feel comfortable with the sleeve and would go ahead and do it. But Medicare does not cover it yet,

What’s there problem?

Last night was the first time I registered on this site. I announced that a woman I met via computer and myself were in the same boat...waiting for Medicare to approve the gastric sleeve so I posted an idea we came up with yesterday...first showing a letter I wrote several weeks ago to a congressman and then mentioned creating---today---a national petition for people to sign..as there is power in numbers...and just

this morning I noticed my letter having been removed from the internet. Strange..I say...to not be able to

unite in this so-called democracy....still wondering who took my letter to my congressman off the internet

in less than 24 hours...? I have my suspisions...you can reach me at fightforjustice@yahoo.com unless

someone feels like stopping anyone from reaching me...we'll see.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
