painful "hunger", does not feel like hunger, only pain

Hi,

I was sleeved 7 weeks ago and having trouble with stomach pain.....I really cannot tell if it is actually hungry pains, its almost feels like there's acid in my stomach making me want to eat, so I'll grab something to eat and and then I have another type of stomach ache from eating,

Does anyone else experience this?

Does it go away?

Thanks for any advice, its especially painful at bedtime, if I don't eat before bed.

Do you take a PPI or other acid reducer?

What does your doc say?

You need to talk to your doctor. Most doctors put their patients on an acid blocker for at least 6 months after sleeve surgery.

It definitely sounds like acid and you need a prescription.

The medical name is Omeprazole, type of medicine is "Proton Pump Inhibitor". Trade name best known: "LOSEC". These meds will reduce acid and prevent acid reflux.

I'm on Prilosec, is that the same thing everyone is talking about?

Thanks!

You might have to go to another ppi. sometimes certain ppi don't work on everyone.. I used to take prilsec and I had to change because my symptoms would come back. So I talked with my doc and he switched me to protonics. Nexium is a really good one too. If you talk with your doc he will take of you..good luck
