  1. Hi, wondering if there is a shampoo out there that helps regrow your hair after hair loss. I take biotin and was recommended to try Tail & Mane shampoo by a friend. Any other suggestions? Thanks! P.S. Rogain is not as successful as it says to be. At this point my now thin damaged hair is pitiful and I have to get it all cut off unfortunately.
  2. HI, I have found that when I cannot sleep because of acid reflux and I am coughing and gagging that if I suck on a Halls cough drop, it all goes away! Hope this helps some of you!p
  3. I've been reading the benefits of extra vigrin coconut oil, it comes in jar that needs no refrigeration and melts easily. DO NOT MICROWAVE! I've been using coconut oil to cook with, eat a tablespoon everyday in my coffee, and use it as a moisturizer and hair condition. A little goes a long way. Google coconut oil make sure it is extra virgin cold pressed oil.
  4. I've been sleeved for 9 months and have lost 75 pounds. I wore a size 24 to start and now 75 lbs later I am size 14! No more plus size clothes for me. I'm giving away each oversized piece of clothes, as there is no going back! This surgery works !
  5. Hi, Title says it all.... I'm hungry all the time. Stomach growls and have gnawing feeling about every two hours, even after I drink a protein drink, or have a small meal. Stomach is still tight, I do get full fast and small portions, however the hunger returns so quickly. Effecting weight loss because I am grazing more. Still drinking a lot too, sometimes that works! Any advice? Thanks!
  6. So I was at my annual dr visit complaining about being hungry all the time and hitting a plateau, and my dr said to convince him it was real hunger and not head hunger. I said I don't know, my stomach growls and I feel starved. He said I need to wrap my head around it because with all the protein I am getting I should not be hungry every two hours....which I am. Anyone have any answers for this? PS. Dr said it was not acid in my stomach as I would have heart burn, which I don't. Thanks!
  7. Me too, same sizes and all.... I want to be a size 8 like when I was married.....here's to keep on truckin'. It does become more challenging as time goes on, but we're in this for the long haul right? Congrats to you!
  8. Ok,update! Went to see my dr for my annual check up.....only lost 3 pounds from 3 months ago visit....ugh! My dr (dr Bass) Florida, said I need to wrap my head around whether I'm hungry or just head hungry.... I have no idea what the difference is. I posted about this too today, we'll see if I can get any advice. He did schedule me to see a nutritionist in April, I have to record what I'm eating for three days and take my journal to my nutritionist.
  9. Been on a plateau for 3 months..... Dr said its normal after a year, which is what I am at. Need to increase exercise and make sure eating mostly protein....no carbs! Good luck!
  10. Hi, I am a year out from surgery and on a major stall. I'm exercising for an hour week days, and having protein shakes, adding Unjury protein to everything liquid I drink, soups, crystal light, coffee, etc. however I still feel hungry most of the time. My pouch is still nice and tight because I eat a well balance small dinner every night and get full. What to do?
  11. Gosh! I'd get on hotels.com right away and start looking for the cheapest hotel you can find..... Maybe a holiday inn express or something.... Good luck on all !

  13. Hi, I am on Prilosec, is that an acid reducers? I use it for heart burn. I do really try to eat protein first, that is why I am so frustrated.
  14. I take OTC Prilosec and still need to take Tums if I get heartburn anyway. I also use Prelief, you take it before you eat, especially foods I know that are acidic.

    I was given a binder folder with all the information I could possible want when I visited my surgeon. Perhaps call your surgeons office and ask if they will supply you info. Good luck!

  17. Hi, I have very thin fine hair to start with and I am taking my vitamins and yet I am losing my hair in handfuls when I brush or wash my hair. Any advice would be appreciated! Does it start to grow back? How long? Fearing becoming bald soon, I can no long keep a style in my hair, it just hangs there dead looking! Thanks PS I am 8 months out. Hair loss started out slowly and has increased in last two months.
  18. Yes, I am taking biotin, and all my other vitamins recommended. Protein varies daily, started to add my protein drinks back in to help get more protein. I eat protein for lunch and dinner, and have started supplementing protein drinks during the day. thanks !
  19. If your still in the mushy stage you still will not have a lot of options. Soups, Protein drinks, mashed potatoes, apple sauce, could try a licking a tablespoon of smooth Peanut Butter. I'm sure they are a lot more options for you I simply cannot remember what I ate, I'm 8 months out now. Definitely take Protein Drinks with you to the hotels. Try to go to restaurants that will have soups and or mashed potatoes. Good luck! Remember this too will be all behind you in a few more weeks you can introduce more foods to your new stomach! I can eat almost anything now with the exception of spicy chilli or tomatoey foods as they give me heart burn. Happy Travels!
  20. Most doctors say WLS patients will need vitamins be taken for life, as you will not be able to get all your vitamins through food.. My Dr has me on a lot of vitamins and I hate taking them everyday. Please bring this subject up with your Dr before surgery. I personally could not stand any chewable vitamins so I swallowed all mine with no complications. I take, estimated list: multi- vitamin....centrex ? Spelling Iron C B-12 sublingual Folic acid Calcium Biotin Please discuss with you Dr, and take your vitamins daily... Its must for your body!
  21. The best advice given to me was to shake some things up in your diet and exercise. Definitely would try 2 days liquid diet again and do something else besides walking. I tried the two day liquid protein diet and then really watch how much and what I was eating. In a week I had lost 6 lbs!
  22. Only my husband and my parents know. People have commented on my weight loss and I just say I am dieting, eating smaller meals throughout the day. It's been 6 months now and no one has a clue. When we go out to eat I usually share with my husband and nobody notices how little I eat. People are just concentrating on their own meals. This can be kept a secret I am now convinced. Good luck with your choice!
