  2. OK, now its showing up AFTER I post this! Crazy!
  3. My settings shows I have downloaded an avatar but its not showing up on my profile. Anyone out there who can help me? How come when I click on HELP or Customer Service the pages don't show up? Is there really no customer support here?
  4. Just tried Nutek Pro 5 in Cookies and Cream flavor.... YUM! Only 2 grams of carbs and 32 grams of Protein per one scoop. Mixed with Water and taste delish! Here's the website or can maybe find in stores. I was so exited to taste something I like. Comes in a variety of flavors. http://www.nuteknutr.../nutek/products
  5. Any other self paying people out there? My insurance doesn't cover it and my husband and I both want me to have this surgery. Wondering if I have to go through all the same testing that some insurance companies make you do?
  6. ok, anyone know the pros and cons of plication? Thanks
  7. Just curious to what the Plication is? Been seeing ads about it on this site and never heard of it before...
  8. I don't think they can do the surgeries at the same time... my sleeve surgery is self pay and only performed at a specialized hospital. I thought of that too already. I don't have a surgery date yet for the sleeve but was told on the phone I could get it done in January... and I'd really like to done as soon as possible.
  9. My Dr. just called and I have to have my left ovary out before Christmas. Laproscopic (spelling) ? surgery. I am suppose to have my sleeve surgery in January. Do you think my Dr.'s will agree on this schedule? Anyone had an ovary taken out? Doc said should be on my feet in 4 days... that seems long compared to what I read about the Sleeve surgery. Please feel free to leave me any comments regarding this. Thanks!
  10. Hi, I have my first Dr. meeting on Dec. 1st and they said I could have the surgery in as early as 3-4 weeks... so that puts me in January too. I'm researching the heck out of this surgery. Little nervous about getting my proteins in, never been good at liking protein drinks and the sound of pureeing my meats gives me the quivers too, anyone else have any nerves about about anything? I am so excited about this forum and the surgery. I am definitely ready to have it and give it 100%.
  11. HI, I would love a pdf version if not too much trouble for you! Amazing (scary) diet guide I'm in my researching phase and love this forum! Thanks ever so much amypep@comcast.net
  12. Got my first appt. on Dec. 1st and hoping to be sleeved in January. Has anyone else be operated on by Dr. Bass? What was your experience like? Were you hospitalized in Bonita Springs or Cape Coral? What was his pre-op conditions? Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated!
  13. HI, If you have lost an average of 100 lbs, would you please tell me if you have had the problem of loose, wrinkly, sagging skin? Also any suggestions for preventing this? I have about 100 lbs to lose and I am worried about this. Thanks,
  14. THANKS! For sharing your stories. I am feeling calmer about it now.
  15. HI, I am bi-polar ( a type of depression) since the age of 22 and am very stable on my current medication. I am now almost 40. How is this condition going to effect my psych eval? Has anyone else had depression and gone through a eval? Please anything you can share would be appreciated! Thanks!
  16. Self pay HOW MUCH is it all together??? For the surgery, the person you knocks you out, etc. I live in Ft Myers FL if that helps Amy
  17. I'm looking into lap band surgery but I only have a BMI of 38. Insurance will only cover if I have BMI of 40, hence a difference of 10 pounds. I'm on my 6 month insurance recommended diet. My Dr says I'm crazy to gain weight just for the surgery.... but I really want it. What do you all think?
  18. Could please list what you ate as your mushies please?
  19. HI, I am going to a seminar on May 8th in Bonita Springs for Dr. Thomas Bass.
  20. I am starting out on my insurance recommended 6 month diet with a BMI of only 38. Insurance says I should have aBMI of 40. I'm afraid of losing any more weight on the 6 month diet for fear they will disqualify me for me for having a low bmi. I almost want me to sabotage this 6 month diet and gain the ten more pounds I need to be a 40 BMI, so I'll qualify for the lap band surgery anyone else going through this? Thanks Amy
  21. Hi again, We live in South Fort Myers near the airport. My husband works for an aerospace company called Parker. I'm going to my first seminar about the lap band on May 8th, that's suppose to tell all I need to know, meet the Dr. etc. Here's my email address if you'd like to stay in touch amypep@comcast.net Amy
  22. Are any foods off limits for life with the lap band? Like in gastric bypass surgery you can have no sugar, no carbonation, no alcohol. Amy
  23. I live is Ft Myers Florida. My husband works in Naples and his employers cover both bypass and lapband surgery with some conditions that have to be met prior. I had to call the number on the back of my card to ask if it was covered. They said yes, they'd pay 80% and sent me to the website Health Insurance Offered by EmpireBlue to look up the policy regulations. I typed "lap band" or "gastric bypass" in the advanced search box and found it. My only concern is I only have a BMI of 38 and you;re suppose to be 40. Plus they say you have to go on a 6 month Dr. approved diet... which I may lose even more weight... so I may not even qualify after going through all their rules. Amy
  24. Hi I just start the BCBS 6 month diet. I have a BMI of only 38 not the 40 they are looking for so I really don't want to lose any more weight just to be denied for surgery. Its very frustrating to have this waiting game! Amy
  25. I'm on the 6 month insurance required diet by BCBS, my BMI is 38 and I want to get banded. Did anyone else go through this? I'm afraid if I lose anymore weight I'll be disqualified for the surgery.:frown:
