Having my EDG tomorrow. After that the surgery coordinator is going to submit to my ins. She said she usually hears back from my company in about a week. Already have a tentative surgery date for the 3rd of December. I'm less than a month away. Getting a little nervous.

I'm in Atlanta. My first appointment at Emory Midtown location is tomorrow. Not sure of how long the process is before I get a date but I sure hope it's within two months.

It depends on your insurance I think. I had my first appointment there 2 weeks ago, but I have to have a 3 month diet with my insurance, so I'm looking at a feb date for surgery they said.

Be prepared, my first apointment lasted 3-4 hours. They actually sent me down for lunch because the wait was so behind. Not sure how often that happens.

My insurance only require me to meet with the nutritionist, one visit to a psychiatrist and a letter of necessity. I wish I could speed up the process

Yeah' date=' I really liked Dr. Singh at my appointment last week. I get to meet Megan this month. I'm doing my supervised diet through my PCP, but I'm still looking forward to what I'm going to learn with them too. The front desk staff was a little off, but I'm thinking it may have just been a busy day for them, they seemed all over the place, while everyone in the back was friendly and seemed to know what they were doing.[/quote']

I'm also meeting with Dr.Singh

That's all my ins required of me as well, but some physician offices require more. I started the process in September and hopefully will have surgery next month.

Dr. Singh is the medical doctor there. From what I could tell, he handles your appointments and clears you for surgery, while Meghan is the nutritionist and then you have a surgeon also.

BUT, their nutritonist for whatever reason didn't count for insurance, I had to make an appointment with a different one for that, which wasn't a big deal.

They also require a psychologist, but since your insurance requires it, you will already be going to one. I scheduled an appointment with one of the ones they gave us that was on my insurance plan.

My letter of necessity came from my PCP, but I think Emory just requires it to be from someone other than them.

I wish I could have surgery sooner, but at the same time, I feel comfortable getting myself prepared and making changes with my food now.

How many times are you required to see the nut? My surgeon is wanting me to see the nut at least 3 times before surgery and then one week out then 30 days. I like the idea of having him on board just in case I need ideas afterwards if I am lacking proper nutrients. But the problem is my ins will not pay for it. They covered the dietician who is in with my endocrinologist..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
