anyone from indiana?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I had my surgery done on June 18th of this year in New York (lived in Jersey), but when I moved it was too soon for a fill. Now I am 9 weeks post op tomorrow and can't seem to find anyone in Indiana to do my fills. They all say if I didn't have my surgery there they won't see me. I am in West Lafayette, and found a place in Chicago (they don't know how to return calls), but want to go somewhere closer. Does anyone know if such a place exists here? :confused2: I haven't gained any weight, but it sure isn't coming off either. :)(

Stuck in a rut in Indiana..... or a cornfield. LOL!

That's exactly why I'm not having my surgery here in Indiana. I have mine in OH on Sept 2nd. Have you tried an bariactric surgery center in Indianapolis? I know St Vincents has a bariatric center. Not sure who else does. Hope you find someone soon.

Kristi with an I: Did you talk to our band doctor and see if he can give you a doctor in your area to do fills. I think if you just call in it is tuff to get in since they have so many of there own people but if you have the band doctor call them it might be a differant story. Just a thought here.

Chris

Dr. Clark does fills at his other office on Tuesday mornings and Thursdays afternoons. I like going ther much better.

Thanks for the info.

That's better than the Monday morning fills. I have to be in Court every Monday and Wednesday afternoon, so I'd have to rush back from Indy to make it in time if I go to the Southport Rd office. We get new clients (arrested juveniles) on Tuesdays, so thank goodness Thursday is offered for fills. I usually take off every Friday, but I can change my work schedule to take off on Thursday afternoons every once in a while.

I've only had one fill so far, since I haven't had a chance to call the Premier office. I'll call them tomorrow to make an appt.

Thanks for all the info, I will give them a call today to see if they will take me and try giving my band Dr. a call for them to look for me as well (they were supposed to have done that and gotten back to me, so I will call them again). I do have an appt. at Univ of Illinois tomorrow, but would sooooo go somewhere closer.

Anyone know of any support groups near Lafayette?

Thanks!!!!!

Kristi

I am not sure if you are still looking, but Dr Keith McEwen is pretty reasonable, and will help you get a payment plan set up. They also have some type of financing as well.

Our Indiana board is very quiet.....does anyone on this thread go to support meetings? I have not been to any because it is 3 hours for me to get to the support meetings...just curious.

have a good day

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
