Things that the Dr.'s didn't tell us!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I have experience some things with the new me that I did not expect!!! I was never told that the high Protein diet will give you constipation:blushing: (TMI I know) which can lead to hemorrhoids:blushing: (which is an experience all in its self if you have never had them!), your feet loose weight which makes all of your shoes loose:thumbdown:, and your rings start to fall off:mad0:...

Anyone else have any surprise outcomes???

But I wouldn't change it for the world!

Just to inform those who haven't had the sleeve, constipation is not a guaranteed fate after this surgery. I've had no problems save for maybe 3rd or 4th week post-op. I generally go daily, every once in a while it's once every 2 days. I also exercise regularly, though, and that tends to get things moving (ever heard of runner's trots? hehe). I don't take fiber supplements, but I do try to eat 3-4 servings of fruits and vegetables daily and I don't eat low carb.

What do you take? I hate to keep taking a laxative. I put fiber in my protein drinks but it doesn't seem to be enough.

I put fiber in my drinks doesn't work either, my surgeon told me to take senna (senokot, maybe another brand in the US) i take one nearly every night now the only way to keep me going. I do eat a bit of fruit and veg, still bad constipation though :D

When I was pregnant with my 2nd child my feet grew from a size 7.5 to a 9 and I only weighed 167 lbs when she was born. Since surgery, I have lost 84 lbs. and still in a size 9. My wedding rings fit for the first time in years.

I have only had 3 episodes of constipation since surgery. I think it was due to the pain meds. No problems now.

Same here. Sizes dropping and having problems with my watch spinning around. I am ecstatic about these problems, except for the constipation of course.!! Got to work on that problem.....
