Anyone have GPS with Dr. Jaime Ponce at INT?

Recommended Posts

My band needs to come out and I'm looking into the GPS.

Since my insurance doesn't cover it I'm thinking of going to Tijuana.< /p>

I have lots of experience with Dr. Corvala but am not sure if I'm

going to go there or with Ponce. I have experience with Drs. Martinez

and Ortiz as well but don't think they have enough GPS experience.

Any thoughts would be appreciated?

Thanks!

Well, depending on where you live... they charge $9,000 in Mexico, plus you have to get there.... if your'e anywhere near the midwest, Dr. Watkins, in Cincinnati, OH, only charges $9,900... and he seems to have done more GPS than all other US doctors, except Dr. Cotter in Utah.

I am going to have Dr. Watkins do my GPS, just saving money now and hope to have everything together before Thanksgiving... for my money, I'd rather stay in the friendly confines of the USA, plus the nurses at Cincinnati Weight Loss Center are the BEST

Thanks!

I live in Orange County, CA so Tijuana is only 2 hours away.

I spoke w/ Dr. Ponce's assistant today and she was very helpful.

Since mine is a revision I have to pay a bit more, but it was closer

to $6,800. Not too bad, but not sure yet. I like the idea of staying here

in the U.S. but I have lots of experience with great medical care in Mexico

so that doesn't make me nervous or anxious.

Thanks for your help!

Is dr. Ponce de leon associated with Dr. Almaza in Tijuana? I think I heard his name associated with him. If he is check out if your recovery is in an actual hospital or in a "recovery home". I don't know anything good/or bad about Almaza and his team, just the fact that surgery is at a clinic and recovery is in a private home.

I had surgery with Dr. Corvala at Angeles Hospital, don't have anything but good to say about him and his surgical team, as well as about the hospital.

I wanted to make sure that I was in a hospital setting and not in a clinic/house setting. Just in case the worst happened, I wanted to be taken care of.

Good luck with your research and surgery. For me it has been great.

Take care,

Carol,

Thanks for the reply. Yes the recovery is in a house so I'm thinking of using Dr. Corvala or Dr. Rodriguez instead. Haven't quite decided yet.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
