Surgery 7/19/10, new to the site

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve surgery on 7/19/10, I've felt so much better the past 2 days. The first 2 days were so tough but I kept reading some of the blogs on here that said to sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk and it really helped! My fiance (loyal boyfriend of 11 1/2 years, getting married next year)found this site for me and its been so helpful since I got home. I go back to work towards the end of next week and am looking forward to it. Hardest thing has been with my 3 year old daughter not understanding why she can't jump and play with mommy. But she's getting better at "taking care" of mommy. My 10 year old son has been such a great helper when it comes to his little sister I'm so proud!

Well, I'm hoping to find some people on here that I can share this experience with and that can guide me though this website. I started one of those cute little Weight Loss Diet Tickers but can't figure out how to get it in my profile, any suggestions on that?

Also, looking for advise on menu planning after I'm finished with the post-op liquid diet. How do you do with certain foods like raw veggies, chicken, etc.

ANY comments or advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all!

Betsy

Hey Betsy. Welcome to VST and congrats on your surgery. I think you'll find the forum very helpful in the coming days. It can be rough right after surgery and reading about other people going through the same things helps me alot. It is tough with young kids, but it sounds like you have some good help. :cool0:

As for the ticker, I've never tried weight watchers. I use Ticker Factory Weight Loss - Diet Ticker and it's real easy to set up and update. After you set up your ticker the way you like it, there will be a code there for you to copy and paste into your signature line. Highlight the one under "bbCode" then copy it. Then, go to User CP in VST and edit signature. In the edit box for your signature, click paste. Then you can preview the ticker and save the changes. I hope this helps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
