feeling a bit down - 1 month delay before we can submit to insurance

Recommended Posts

so i completed everything and went to my dr for the final vist on wed june 30 (just 2 days ago) and i thought that was the last visit and he was going to submit everything to the insurance co. but my dr said that the abdominal ultrasound showed my liver was very big and also, my blood sugar level was elevated. he also said i had a Vitamin D and Vitamin b1 deficiency. he has put me on a diet with the nutritionist to lose 15 lbs in the next 4 weeks, as well as having me take vitamin d 50,000 once a week. i also got a vitamin b1 shot and i also have to go back to my primary care dr and have him check into my sugar levels and see if he feels i need to take some medication for it or just watch what im eating to lower it. so now i have to wait another 4 weeks and go back to my wls dr and hopefully then everything will be ok to proceed. losing the 15lbs will be a piece of cake as i am a professional dieter :) anyway, just venting as its frustrating to have this delay. i guess its the way this all works and obviously my dr wants me to have surgery in the best possible health i can be in. take care everyone and thanks in advance for any replies.

I am sorry to hear about the delay. That must be very frustrating!

Stay proactive. You are your own best advocate.

Vitamin D was the only item low on my recent lab work. I am also taking that mega dose for 12 weeks. At least it is only once a week and the pill is a pretty blue. LOL

I have seen others post about having a large liver and it does seem to correct itself quickly.

good luck and hang in there! I don't have any patience so can appreciate how frustrating this is to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
