No, they didn't deny me. They approved within 3 days. The bariatric center I went to was in some sort of pilot research program with BCBS--I think that's why there wasn't a problem. You could try to find a program that is also in the BCBS pilot program for the vertical sleeve gastrectomy.

Actually you could contact my bariatric clinic and see if they have a list of other clinics in the pilot program. I'm pretty sure she said it was a national project. The nurse's name is Jean, and the number is 701-530-6330.
