  1. It happened to me with another surgery I had not the sleeve. I called the Doc and told him I was getting sick and he called me in a Z pack and I still had the surgery as planned.
  2. I waited a year after my lap bad was removed before I had the gastric sleeve. It was the worst pain that I have ever endured. I went to Mexico to get my sleeve (Dr. Aceves) and I as very pleased and coiuld not be happier. October 7 will be a year and I am 20 pounds away from my goal. I was very impatient and did not want to wait but now looking back i am glad that I did. My body needed that time to heal. Also, if I had not of waited I am not sure my sleeve would have been such a grea success.
  3. I have had this before and after having an upper GI, we found the culprit to be a huge ball of gas the size of a grapefruit. The only thing that got rid of it was moving around and exercising. Thats probably why you cannot eat anything either. There is no room. But just to make sure you should consult your doctor.
  4. Have any of you ladies noticed an increase in eating around the time of your period?
  5. I think it all depends on what you feel comfortable with. I went with Dr. Aceves. I personally did a year's worth of research on him before making my decision. In my opinion he is more experienced with band to sleeve revision. I myself had the lapband (which was eroded) and I wanted someone that had the most experience in that area. Also, I wanted to be in a hospital in case the absolute worst happened. Dr. Aceves and his staff were very friendly, professional and caring. I would do it over in a heartbeat. Good luck with your decision.
  6. Well it sounds like you just may have booted the problem. If he cant be supportive of you then good riddance. He was prolly the reason your stress level was so high. You will break that stall. Just stay off the scale. Good luck!
  7. Can anybody recommend good places to eat without worrying about getting sick?
  8. Did anybody drink Gatorade during the Clear liquids phase?
  9. Can anybody tell me why they call it "mups" ? Is it the same as the nexium capsules ?
  10. Yeah I am not going to him. I am scheduled with Dr. Aceves for October 8th. They say he is the best for revisions.
  11. I had my band removed a little over a year ago due to erosion. The thing with me is I didnt have any pain symptoms. The only thing I noticed is I started gaining weight. I also went to a different bariatric surgeon. He did an endoscopy and immediately found it. He immediately took out the band and during the course of a little over a year, I have gained 65 pounds. The weight gain has affected my moods, well being, motivation and friendships and relationships. I am happy to say that I have taken the first step to getting my life back. My surgery date is October 8th. I am having to self pay but I feel like its a small price to pay for a healhier me and getting my life back on track. I hope you find your way and wish you luck.
  12. Mim - I think we will be fine too. My mom is going with me. I told her she didnt have to that I felt fine to go by myself but she insisted. I wish we were going to be traveling as close as you. The flight causes anxiety too along with everything else. I see that your band worked really well for you. You went from 241 to 135. That is very impressive. Did you have good restriction? Did you exercise? Mine was a lemon from day one. Tell me how you achieved your weight loss with the band.
  13. Yay! I am so glad that somebody else on this site will be there the same week as me. It makes everything seem more realistic. About a year ago I would have never considered going to Mexico and having surgery, but after gaining all my weight back and then some, after having my band taken out a year ago, I said I had to do something cause my insurance company sure isnt. After alot of research I chose Dr. Aceves - he is the best for me. Are you guys flying into San Diego? POD - How did you hear about Dr. Aceves all the way in the UK? How long is your flight?
