Dr. Aceves did my surgery a year and a half ago. Great experience. No problems. Down from a size 24 to a size 10.

Out of these three I would go with Aceves. I've pondered on all of these surgeons as well, but I have never once read a bad review on Dr. Aceves. Plus he has the most experience out of the 3 you listed above. Aceves/Alvarez are about the same price- I really like how Dr. Alvarez has his YouTube channel and answers questions. He's very informative and interacts with his patients a lot.

Thanks, Jesser - can I ask who you used and if you'd recommend him/her?

I went to Dr. Aceves in March and my experience truly was excellent.

I'm still in limbo... I'm saving up for my surgery still. But if I had the cash right now I would go to Dr Aceves. But I'm struggling coming up with that much money so I'm more than likely going to go with Dr. Fernando Garcia. I'm also looking into Dr. Illan. Both work out of Florence hospital there in Tijuana.

I had my surgery on June, 25th with Dr. Ramos-Kelly in Tijuana. Great experience, great doctor!

I'm scheduled with Dr. Alvarez for August 1st. I'm sure I'll be posting all the details, good and bad. I'm a Nurse, so I'm sure I'll be critiquing everything. I searched and searched, and couldn't find one negative post about him, his staff or the hospital,

I had surgery with dr. Aceves in february and I couldn't have been happier! the drs and his staff are excellent! I would be happy to share any part if my experience!

After much research, my decision was between Dr. Aceves and Dr. Alvarez. I liked the longer time in the hospital with Dr. Aceves as well as the three leak tests. Peace of mind!

Dr alvarez has a weekly radio show on mondays that you can send questions too also...if u have questions

I have been watching your youtube videos (and subscribed to them). Love them! They are very uplifting and inspiring. Would love for you to suggest some other youtubes that may help me. I am scheduled wit Dr Aceves July 25th.

I also went to Dr.Aceves in March for a band to sleeve revision. I had an excellent experience. I was banded 4.5 years ago with Dr.Ortiz/Dr.Martinez. I had a good experience there as well. The 3 reasons I went to Dr.Aceves and not back to Dr.Ariel Ortiz was 1- Dr.Aceves has more experience 2- The longer hospital stay, I just felt more comfortable being in the hospital for 3 days as opposed to being in a hotel. If I were to have an emergency at 3am the response time being in a hotel freaked me out 3- I went to Tijuana thinking Dr.Ortiz was doing my band and didnt find out until after Dr.Martinez did it. Now, he did an amazing job and Dr.Ortiz was there BUT that wasnt explained to me at all before surgery...unless they told me the little bit right before after I had a relaxant and I dont remember. It should have been told to me before I even travelled there. I almost did go back to The OCC though as I went there for several fills an have always had good experiences, but I just felt much more comfortable go to Dr.Aceves.

I had a revision from the Lap Band to the Sleeve 4/1/13. Dr. Aceves and his staff were wonderful. I chose him due to his reputation, the hospital facility (You stay there the entire time...there is an ER and a fully functional ICU... I liked that), and his experience with revisions. I struggled with the price as well... did a re-fi on my house to pay for it. This was my life... I needed the best. Besides being a skilled surgeon...he is kind and caring. I am down 61 lbs since the start of my pre-op diet and 51 since surgery day. From size 24 to 14's and 12's. Oh... and the hospital is small but it is very clean and much more modern than I would have expected. I was walking constantly so I sure saw a lot of it! One thing to note... Mexicali is certainly not a tourist destination...lol.
