I'm thrilled that it only took 2 days to get insurance approval from United Healthcare! Now I am waiting on a surgery date. My doctor schedules surgery in the order of insurance approvals. I feel very fortunate and I'm excited to join many of you as a Big Loser on the other side!

I have United Health Care as well. I am just waiting for my insurance cards to come in the mail as I just got the insurance when i got my new job on June 7th.

What is your BMI if I can ask? Your stats?

I'm 5'7.5 and around 315lbs right now. I don't have any other health problems.

How did the process work from the start for you if I can ask.

I am just wondering what similarities we have to see if the process will be about the same for me when I get the ball rolling....

My BMI is 45. I am 5'4 and 264 pounds. I also have severe sleep apnea. Be sure that your employer has bariatric surgery included as a benefit through United Healthcare. I also called UHC myself to see if I had been approved since I've learned that approvals are many times completed a few days before communicated by your surgeon. Good luck to you!
