  1. So sorry about the rude comments to you! I also have found that waitstaff seem worried about the amount I eat. Here's my new trick....if I order my own meal, I ask for a to go container when the food is served. I put most of the meal in the box and the waitstaff have no idea how much or how little I have eaten!
  2. I have UHC and was approved in 2 days. I had heard they were fast and I called UHC on my own and they gave me the greats news! I then called my surgeon's office. Good luck with your approval!
  3. My heartburn felt constant as well! I started taking Prilosec about 4 weeks out and I feel 100% better. I was lucky that it started working the first day even though the package says it can take several days. Check with your doctor and I hope you feel more comfortable soon!
  4. My energy level was low during the first 4-5 weeks, especially late afternoon to early evening. Even though you are doing all of the right things, your body is still recovering from surgery. I started feeling an abundance of energy during week 6. I hope it continues!
  5. This thread is so helpful because I am 5 weeks post op in what I will call my second stall. The first one was at 3 weeks. I've heard that an official stall is 14+ days but seeing the scale move every day right after surgery was quite fun! I thrive on results but I think I might try to weigh only once a week and see if I can stop stressing over the numbers. This will be a challenge for me! I find it helpful to take measurements once a week. Yesterday even though the darn scale didn't move, I still lost 3 1/2 inches. So I am shrinking! :thumbup1: It's funny how everyone's experiences are so different but yet the same in many ways. It's comforting to find that others are going through some of the same challenges.
  6. Great ideas! The journal is good for recording success and I'll bet the girls could show him some extra attention by helping him with small things. There were also times after surgery when I just wanted to be alone and rest. My 11 year-old daughter "measures" my waist by throwing her arms around me to give me a big hug. It's become a ritual and she always says, "Yep! You are getting smaller! I'm proud of you Mom!" It's truly better than any success I see on the scale.
  7. I have UHC and was approved in 2 days. I did not have to do a supervised diet and was on the surgery schedule a few weeks after approval. I'm about 5 weeks post op and UHC has already paid 90% of the costs. Good luck to everyone who is waiting for approval!! Once you receive approval everything starts falling into place very quickly!
  8. I only took one week off but looking back I wish I had taken 2 weeks. I was tired and it would have been good to have had more rest before returning to work.
  9. I am experiencing the same thing! When I need to eat something I really have to give it some thought because one day a certain food will sound wonderful and the next day it sounds awful. I too can relate to my first pregnancy when certain foods or smells could send me over the edge! Hey Sleeve Longtimers! Does this subside eventually?
  10. My C-section was much more painful than the sleeve. I'm 4 weeks post op today and you can barely see the scars.
  11. I didn't cash pay but I would highly recommend The Davis Clinic! Either Garth Davis or Robert Davis. Give them a call!
  12. Good luck to you and check back in soon!
  13. Mine was 50 minutes and included him repairing a hernia.
  14. So glad you are feeling better and congrats on making it to onederland!!! Way to go!
