new today-losing band-looking for options

hi all,

I am new today, so I am still trying to navigate my way around the site, so please forgive me if I mess up. I am going into my 8th year with the band. last year started to have major problems, band replace in April 2010 and hiatal hernial repaired at the same time, unfortunely my damage is too severe and the band has to be removed (warning on allergan's package also) I have pseudoachlachia, dysmotility, megaesophagus, erosion I loved my band, I was 300lbs got down to 126, now with all the issues since last year, reoperation, (band is empty and will not be filled, just waiting to removed and pick a different surgery) I am up to 190 -very difficult. thanks

I'm so sorry to hear of your band issues. I revised as well after only 8 months with my band.

The sleeve really is like night and day. I've posted a lot of information in the Band to Sleeve revision forum that you can find on here. Life with the sleeve is effortless. If you didn't have the typical band issues of puking, sliming, food getting stuck, food restrictions, then the sleeve will be extremely familiar. It works like a band is supposed to without all the issues.

Best wishes and keep us posted on your progress.

Hi and welcome

It sounds like the sleeve could provide you with the perfect solution - I wish you luck with your decision - good luck
